Operation
• Before opening the front p anel of t he indoor unit or ser vice panel o f the out door unit, set the ci rcuit breake r to the O FF
position. Fai lure to set the circuit breaker to the OFF position may res ult in electric shocks throu gh contact with the
interior par ts. Only a qualifi ed installer (*1) or qua lified se rvice pers on(*1) is al lowed to remove the front p anel of the
indoor unit or servi ce panel of the outdoor unit and do the work requi red.
• Inside the air conditioner are high-voltage are as and rotating part s. Due to the danger of electr ic shocks or of your
fingers or physical obj ects becom ing trapped in the r otating par ts, do no t remove t he front pan el of th e indoor unit or
service p anel of the outdoor unit. W hen wor k involvi ng the rem oval of these pa rts is required, cont act a q ualified
installer(*1) or a qualified service person (*1).
• Do not move or repair any unit by yoursel f. Since there is high volta ge inside the unit, you may get electric shock
when the cover and main uni t is removed.
• Use of a stand more than 50 cm high to clean the filter of the indoor unit or to carry out other such jobs constitutes
working at heights. Due to the danger of falling of f the stand and in juring your self while working a t heights, thi s kind
of work should not be done by un qualified ind ividuals. Wh en this kind o f work must be car ried out, do not do it yourself
but ask a qualified insta ller(*1) or a qualified ser vice person( *1) to do it for you.
• Do not touch the alumin um fin of the outdoor uni t. You may inju re yourself if you do so. If the fin must be touch ed, do
not touch it yourself but con tact a qualified installer(*1) or a qualifi ed service person( *1).
• Do not clim b onto o r place objects o n top of the ou tdoor un it. Yo u may f all or the obj ects may fall off of the outdoor
unit and result i n injury.
• Do not place any co mbustion appliance i n a place w here it is di rectly ex posed to t he wind of ai r conditioner , otherw ise
it may cause imperfect comb ustion.
• When the air cond itioner is operated with a co mbustion appl iance in t he same p lace, vent ilate the r oom suffic iently.
Poor ventilatio n causes oxygen short age.
• When the air conditioner is us ed in a closed room, sufficie ntly ventilate the room . Poor ventilati on causes oxygen
shortage.
• Do not expose your body to cool air directly for a long time and do not cool yourself excessi vely.
Doing so may result in deterio rated physical condit ion and ill health.
• Do not insert your finger or a stick into the air intake or discharge.
Doing so may result injur y as the fan is rotating at high spee d inside the unit.
• Consult the shop where you purchase d the air conditio ner if air conditio ning (cooling and heat ing) is not perform ed
properly a s a r efrigerant leakage may be the cause. Confirm t he repa ir deta ils with a qualified service person(*1)
when the repair incl udes additional cha rging of the refriger ant.
• Stop running the air conditi oner and turn off the breaker before cleani ng.
Otherwise, in jury may result as the fan is rotatin g at high speed inside the unit.
Repairs
• If there is any kind of trouble (such as when an er ror display has appear ed, there is a smell of bur ning, abnorma l
sounds are heard, the air conditioner fails to cool or heat or water is leaking ) has occurred in the air condit ioner, do
not touch the air condit ioner yourself but set the circuit breaker to the OFF position, and cont act a qualified servi ce
person(*1). Take steps to ensure that the power will not be turned on (by marki ng “out of service” near th e circuit
breaker, for instanc e) until qualifie d service person (*1) arrives. Contin uing to use the air conditi oner in the trouble
status may cause mechani cal problems to esca late or result in electric shoc ks or other trouble.
• If the fan grille is damaged, do not approach the outdoo r unit but set the circuit breaker to the OFF posit ion, and
contact a qu alified service pe rson(*1) to ha ve the repai rs done. D o not set the circui t breaker to the ON pos ition until
the repairs are comple ted.
• If there is a danger of the indoor unit’s falling, do not approa ch the indoor uni t but set the circuit brea ker to the OFF
position, and contact a qualified inst aller(*1) or a qualified ser vice person( *1) to refit the unit. Do not set the cir cuit
breaker to the ON positi on until the unit has been r efitted.
• If there is a danger of the outd oor unit’s topplin g over, do not approa ch the outdoor unit but set the circuit breake r to
the OFF position, and contact a qualifi ed installer(*1) or a qualified service per son(*1) to have the i mprovement s or
refitting done . Do not set the circuit breaker to the ON position until the impr ovements or refitt ing is completed.
• Do not customize the unit. Doing so may re sult in fire, electric shock or othe r trouble.
Reloc ation
• When the air conditioner is to be relocat ed, do not relocate it yoursel f but contact a qualified inst aller(*1) or a qualifi ed
service person( *1). Failure to relocate th e air conditioner proper ly may result in electri c shocks and/or a fire.
To disconnect the appliance f rom the mains supply.
• This appliance must be conne cted to the mains by means of a switch with a contact separation of at least 3 mm .
The installation fuse (all types can be sued) must be used f or the power supply line of this air conditioner.
Installation
• Certainly lay the drain hose f or perfect draining. Ba d drainage may cause floodin g in the house and getting fu rniture
wet.
• Connect the air condit ioner to an exclusive power supply of the rated voltage, ot herwise the unit may break down or
cause a fire.
• Confirm that t he outdoor unit are fixed on t he base. O therwise, falling dow n of the units or ot her accide nts may occur .
Operation
• Do not use this air conditione r for special purpose such as preserving food, pre cision instrument s, art objects,
breeding anima ls, car, vessel.
• Do not touch any switches with wet fing er, otherwise you m ay get an electric shock.
• If the air conditioner will not be used for a considerab ly long time, turn off the main switch or the circuit brea ker, for
safe ty.
• To make the air conditioner operate in its origi nal performance, operate it within the range of the operating
temperature specif ied in the instructions. Otherwise it may cause a malfu nction, or water leak from the unit.
• Prevent any liquid from falling into the remote cont roller. Do not spill juice, water or any kind of liqui d.
• Do not wash the air conditioner . Doing so may result in electric shock.
• Check whether the installatio n base and o ther equipm ent have become de teriorate d after being used for a long t ime.
Leaving th em such c ondition may res ult in th e unit’s f alling d own and c ausing injury.
• Do not leave flammab le sprays or other flammabl e materials near the air condition er, and do not spray flamma ble
aerosol directly to the ai r conditioner. The y may catch fire.
• Stop running the air conditioner and turn off the breaker before clea ning.
Otherwise, injury may result as the fan is rot ating at high sp eed inside the uni t.
• Ask for cleaning of the air cond itioner to be performed by t he dealer.
Cleaning the air condi tioner in an improper manner may cause damage to plastic parts, insul ation failure of electri c
parts and result in a malfunction. In the worst case, it may result in water leakage , electric shock, smoke emission
and fire.
• Do not put a water container such as a vase on the unit.
Water intrusion into the unit m ay occur and it m ay cause deteri oration of el ectric insulati on and result i n electric shoc k.
