Decompression diving is widely believed
to entail substantially greater risk of
decompression illness than dives made
well within No-Decompression Limits
(NDLs). The IQ-600 provides decom-
pression stop information solely as a con-
tingency in case divers accidentally
exceed the No-Decompression Limits.
It
is not designed or intended for use as
a tool to plan or execute dives that
participants know, going in, will
entail mandatory decompression.

As soon as your IQ-600 exceeds a No-Decompression Limit
(NDL), several things happen. The computer’s audible alarm
sounds for three seconds. Additionally, as shown in Figure 9,
new information appears on the computer’s display.
