before using the espresso coffee maker. Do not
attempt to open the lid on the tank while there is still
pressure inside.
5. Turn the aroma selector (11) to the desired position:
The

Press the ON/OFF switch (10). The pilot lamp will
light up and after a short while the coffee will begin
to flow out. When the coffee stops coming out, turn

PREPARING CAPPUCCINO COFFEE
(Fig. 9 -17)
1. Follow the instructions for making coffee. The level
mark on the jug (16) shows the amount of water
needed to make two cups of coffee with frothy milk.
If you want to make four cups of cappuccino, fill the
jug to just below the metal band.
2. When you have made the desired amount of coffee
set the coffee-steam selector (11) to the steam
position
. As soon as the coffee maker reaches
the required pressure, the green pilot lamp will light
up.
Place a jug of cold milk below the steam nozzle (13)
and open the steam regulator (12) by turning the knob
anticlockwise.
3. To obtain froth, place the steam pipe just on the
surface of the milk and move the jug about gently in
a circular motion.
Once the froth is ready, move the jug up and down
slightly to heat up the milk. To stop the steam coming
out, close the steam regulator by turning the knob in
a clockwise direction.
4. Pour the frothed-up milk onto the coffee. If you
want you can sprinkle it with powered cinnamon or
grated chocolate and decorate it with a stick of
cinnamon.
Do not attempt to open the lid on the tank while there
is still pressure inside. When you have finished
remember to bring the pressure down by following
the instructions stated in the previous point.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
(Fig. 18 - 21)
Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before
proceeding to clean it. Wash the moving parts with
soapy water. The drip tray (18) and the nozzle cover
(13) can be removed for easy cleaning. Wipe down
the body of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
It is necessary to clean the steam pipe regularly to
ensure that it does not become blocked. To clean
the inside of the steam pipe, fill the tank water (9)
with enough water for one cup of espresso coffee
and operate the steam nozzle but without any milk.
Switch off the steam and rub the nozzle down with
a damp cloth immediately afterwards.
Take care when doing this as it may still be very hot.
After use, check that both water tanks (6 and 9) are
completely empty. Do not store the coffee maker with
the filter holder (14) still fitted.
The mains cable can be stored away on the cable
tidy (19) located underneath the appliance.
DESCALING
The coffee maker should be descaled regularly.
Frequency will depend on water hardness and use.

1. Place the empty jug (3) on the hot plate (2).
2. Dilute three cups of vinegar in nine cups of water
and fill the tank (6) with the mixture.
3. Switch the coffee maker on for one minute. Switch
it off and let it stand for half an hour.
4. Switch the coffee maker back on so that all the
water/vinegar solution flows out. Throw this away
and clean out the jug.
5. To flush out any traces of vinegar, run the drip fed
coffee maker through two more cycles but using
only water.

one part vinegar with three parts water and pour
the mixture into the water tank (9) Place one
container below the coffee outlet and another
below the steam nozzle.
4. Turn the steam regulator (12) on and let steam come
out for about thirty seconds.
5. Close the steam regulator and allow the rest of the
mixture to flow out through the coffee outlet head.
6. Leave the coffee maker to cool down
7. To flush out any remaining vinegar, run it through
twice more using just water. Do not forget to let
the coffee maker cool down between each cycle.
