When using your te lephone equipment, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk o f fire , electric shock and injury

1. Do not use this product near water , for ex ample, near a bath tub,
wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a

requir ements ad opted by t he A CT A. On the bo ttom o f this equ ipmen t is
a label that contai ns, amon g other infor mati on, a pr odu ct identif ier in
the format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested, this number must be
provided to the telephone company.
An applicable Universal Se rvice Order Codes (USOC) certification for the
jacks used in this equipment is provided (i.e., RJ11C) in the packaging
with each piece of ap proved termina l equipm ent.
A plug an d jack used to conn ect thi s equipm ent to the premise s wirin g
and te lephon e ne twork mu st comply with the appli cable FCC Pa rt 68
rules an d requir ements adop ted by th e ACT A. A complia nt tele phon e
cord an d mod ular plug is provid ed with this prod uct. It is desi gned to
be connected to a co mpatible modular jack that is also compliant. See
installation instructions for details.
The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be
connected to a te lephone line . Excessive REN s on a telephone line may
result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In
most b ut not all ar eas, the sum of RENs sh ould not e xceed five (5.0).
To be certain of the number of d evices that may be connected to a line,
as determined by the tota l RENs, contact the local te lephone company .
For products approved a fter July 23, 2001, the REN for t his product is
part of the prod uct identifier that has the f ormat US:AAAEQ##TXXXX.
The digits represented by ## are the REN without a decimal point (e.g.,
03 is a REN of 0.3). For earlier prod ucts , the REN is separate ly shown
on the label.
If this equipment ca uses harm to the tele phone network, the telephone
company will n otif y you in advan ce that tempor ary discontin uance o f
service may be required. But if advance notice isn't practical, the
teleph one com pany w ill no tify th e custom er as soon as pos sible . Also,
you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you
believe it is necessary .

harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may r equest

Radio I nterference
Radio i nterfer ence may occas ion ally cause buzzing and h umming in
your cor dless ha ndset, or cli cking noises in the ba se . This in terfer ence
is caused by ext ernal sour ces su ch as TV , refrig erat or , vacuum clea ner ,
fluorescent lighting, or electrical storm . Y o ur unit is NOT DEFECTIVE. If
these n oises contin ue and ar e too distractin g, please check ar ound
your home to see what ap pliances may be causing the problem. In
addition, we recommend that the base not be plugged into a circuit
that als o powers a major appli ance be cause of the poten tial for
interference. Be certain that the antenna on the un it is fully extended
when n eeded.
In the unlikely event that you consistently hear other voices or
distrac ting tr ansmission s on your phon e, you may be rece iving radi o
sign als from anoth er cor dless te lephon e or other sour ce of in terference .
If you cannot eliminate this type of interference , you need to change
to a different channel.
