Longitudinal seat adju stment:
Pull handle , slide seat, release
handle.
Danger
:
Do not sit nearer than 25 cm from
steering wheel, to permit safe
airbag deployment.
Seat backrests:
Turn handwheel to adjust
inclination. Do not lean on backrest
when adjusting.
Do not angle the backrest too far
back. We recommend a maximum
rake of app rox. 25

Seat heig ht:
Lever pumping motion.

down = seat lower
Seat position :
Sit with buttocks are as far back
against backrest as pos sible.
Adjust distance between seat and
pedals so that your legs are slight ly
angled when depre ssing pedals.
Slide the fron t passenger sea t as
far back as possib le.
Seat fol ding:
Pull release le ver and fold backre st
forwards. Slide seat forwards to the
stop.
To restore, sl ide seat backwa rds to
the stop, th en raise b ackrest to
upright position without operating
release leve r. Do not adju st
backrest during s eat fold ing.
Head restrai nt adjustme nt:
Press the rel ease button, ad just
height and engage.
The upper edge of the head
restraint should be at upper head
level.
Steering wh eel adju stment:
Unlock the le ver, adjust th e
steering w heel, then engag e lever
and ensure it is fully lock ed.
Do not adjust t he steering wh eel
unless the vehi cle is stationary a nd
the steeri ng wheel lo ck has been
released.
Fitting seat belts:
Withdraw seat belt from retractor,
guide it untwisted acro ss the body
and insert latch pl ate in belt buckl e.
Tighten the lap belt regularly w hilst
driving by pullin g the shoulde r belt.
Loose or bulky clo thing prevents
the belt from fitting snugly. Do not
place objects su ch as handbags or
mobile phones between the belt
and your body.
Warning:
The best must n ot rest agains t hard
or fragile obje cts in the pocke ts of
your clot hing.
To release be lt, press red bu tton on
belt buckle.
Fasten seat belt before each trip.
In the event of an accident, peo ple
not wearing seat belts end anger
their fellow vehicle occupants and
themselves.
Manual interior mirror :
Swivel mirr or housing.
To reduce dazzle, adjust the le ver
on the underside of the mirror
housing.
Automatic anti -dazzle interior
mirror:
Dazzle from followin g vehicles at
night is automatically reduced.
The lever on the und erside of the
mirror housi ng will not be pr esent.
Adjusting electric e xterior mirrors :
Select the rele vant exter ior mirror
by turning the control to left ( L )
or right (R).
Swivel the control to adjust the
mirror.
In position 0 , no mirror is selected.
Operating windows from outside:
The window s can be ope rated
remotely from outside the vehi cle.
Press and h old the
c button to
open windows.
Press and h old the
e button to
close wind ows.
Release but ton to stop window
movement.
If the windows a re fully opened or
closed, the h azard warnin g lights
will flash twice.
Folding exterior mi rrors:
For pedestr ian safety, exterior
mirrors will swing out of their
normal mountin g position if they
are struck with sufficien t force.
Reposition t he mirror b efore drivi ng
by applying sligh t pressure to the
mirror housing.
Parking po sition:
The exterior mirrors can be folded
in by pressing g ently on the ou ter
edge of the mirr or housing, e.g.
when in a confin ed parking s pace.
Power windows:
With the ignition on, power
windows are operated via th e
switches in the door.
Push switch = O pen window
Pull switch = Close window
Push or pull switch gently to the first
detent positi on: Window moves up
or down as long as the switch is
operated.
Push or pull switch to the second
detent posi tion and th en release:
Window opens or cl oses
automatically. To stop window
movement, oper ate the switch
again in the same direction.
If the window glass encounter s
resistance above th e middle of th e
window during automatic closing,
it is immediately stoppe d and
opened again .
Retained power off:
Power win dows can be operat ed
for upto 10 minutes after the
ignition is switch ed off or until the
driver’s do or is opened.
Light switch:

Tail lights :
Tail lights are il luminated togeth er
with the headlights and sidelights.
Reversing light s:
The reversing lights come on when
the ignition is switched on and
reverse gear is s elected.
Automatic ligh t control:
When the autom atic light contro l
function is switched on and the
engine is runn ing, the s ystem
switches automatically between
daytime runni ng light an d
headlights, depend ing on external
lighting conditi ons and in formation
from the rain sensor system.
Daytime runn ing light:
Increases vis ibility of th e vehicle
during dayli ght.
Automatic headlig ht activation:
During poo r lighting co nditions the
headlights are switched on.
Headlights a re also switch ed on
when windscreen wipers have been
activated for several swipes.
Rear fog light:
Operated with the
r button.
Light switch in pos ition AUTO:
Switching on rear fog light will
switch on headli ghts automatically.
Press the button again to turn the
rear fog light off.
Headlig ht range adju stment:
Adapt headlight range to suit th e
vehicle load to preven t dazzling of
other road us ers.
Turn thumb wheel q to required
position:
Front seats occupie d = 0
All seats occupied = 1
All seats occupied an d
load compartment laden = 2
Driver’s sea t occupied and
load compartment laden = 3
Turn and lane -change si gnals:
Lever up = Rig ht turn signal
Lever down = Left turn signal
If the lever is moved past the
resistance point, the turn signal i s
switched on constantly. When the
steering whe el is moved back, th e
turn signal is automatically
deactivated.
For three flas hes, e.g. when
changing la nes, press the leve r until
resistance is fe lt and then re lease.
Switch the turn signal off m anually
by moving the lever to its original
positio n.
Operating he adlight fl ash, high
beam and low beam:
Headlight flash = Pull lever
towards
steering wheel
High beam = Push leve r
forwards
Low beam = Push lever again
or pull lever
towards steering
wheel
Windscreen wipe r:
2 = Fa st
1 = Sl ow
P = Intermittent wiping - or -
automatic wiping with
rain sensor

For a single wipe when the
windscreen w iper is off, m ove the
lever down.
Do not use wiper if the windsc reen
is frozen.
Switch wiper off in car washes.
Adjustable wiper int erval:
With wiper lever in position P ,
turn adjuster wheel on lever
upwards for shorter wipe r intervals
and downwards for longer wiper
intervals.
Windscreen wa sher:
Pull lever toward s steering whee l.
Washer fluid is sprayed onto the
windscreen and the wiper swipes
for a few strokes.
Rear window wiper/was her:
Press the rocker switch to activate
the rear window wiper.
Upper position = Continuou s
operation
Lower position = Intermittent
operation
Middle position = Off
Push lever forwards to activate rear
window washer. Washer fluid i s
sprayed onto the rear window an d
the wiper swip es for a fe w strokes.
The rear window wiper comes on
automatically when the winds creen
wiper is switched on and reverse
gear is engaged.
Do not use wiper i f the rear window
is frozen .
Switch wiper off in car washes.
Hazard warnin g flashers:
Operated with the
¨ button.

Heated rear window,

Set the temperat ure control to
the highest le vel.
Set fan sp eed to highes t level.
Set air distribution control to l .
Switch cooling n on.
Switch heated rear window Ü
on.
Open side air ven ts and direct
them towards the door windows.
