Longitudinal seat adju stment:
Pull handle , slide seat, release
handle.
Danger
:
Do not sit nearer than 25 cm from
steering wheel, to permit safe
airbag deployment.
Seat backrests:
Turn handwheel .
Do not lean on backrest when
adjusting.
Do not angle the backrest too far
back. We recommend a maximum

Operate lever and adjust bo dy
weight on seat to raise or lower
seat.
Seat position :
Sit with buttocks are as far back
against backrest as pos sible.
Adjust distance between seat and
pedals so that your legs are slight ly
angled when depre ssing pedals.
Slide the front passe nger seat as
far back as possib le.
Head restraint adju stment:
Press the release button, adjust
height and eng age.
The upper edge of the he ad
restraint should be at up per head
level.
Steering whe el adjustm ent:
Unlock the lever, adjust the
steering wh eel, then eng age lever
and ensure it is f ully locked.
Do not adjust the steering wheel
unless the vehicle i s stationary and
the steering w heel lock has been
released.
Seat belt height adju stment:
1 . Pull be lt out slightly
2. Pre ss but ton down
3. Adjust height and engage
Adjust height so the belt lies acr oss
the shoulder. It must not li e across
the throat or upper arm. Do not
adjust while d riving.
Fitting seat belts:
Withdraw seat belt from retractor,
guide it untwisted across the body
and insert latch pl ate in belt buckl e.
Tighten the lap belt regularly whilst
driving by pullin g the shoulde r belt.
Loose or bulky clo thing prevents
the belt from fitting snugly. Do not
place objects su ch as handbags or
mobile phones between the belt
and your body.
Warning:
The best must n ot rest agains t hard
or fragile obje cts in the pocke ts of
your clot hing.
To release be lt, press red bu tton on
belt buckle.
Fasten seat belt before each trip.
In the event of an accident, peo ple
not wearing seat belts end anger
their fellow vehicle occupants and
themselves.
Manual interior mirror :
Swivel mirr or housing.
To reduce dazzle, adjust the le ver
on the underside of the mirror
housing.
Manual exte rior mirrors:
Adjust mi rrors by sw ivelling lever in
required direction.
The lower mirrors are not
adjustab le.
Adjusting electric e xterior mirrors :
Select the rele vant exterio r mirror
by turning the control to left ( _ )
or right (6).
Swivel the contro l to adjust the
mirror.
In position o , no mirror i s selected.
Operating windows from outside:
The window s can be oper ated from
outside the vehicle whe n locking or
unlockin g the vehicle.
Press and h old the Ä button to
open windows.
Press and h old the
e button to
close wind ows.
Release but ton to stop window
movement.
Folding exterior mi rrors:
For pedestr ian safety, exterior
mirrors will swing out of their
normal mountin g position if they
are struck with sufficien t force.
Reposition t he mirror b efore drivi ng
by applying sligh t pressure to the
mirror housing.
Power windows:
With the ignition on, power
windows are operated via th e
switches in the door.
Push switch = Open window
Pull switch = Close window
Push or pull switch gently to the first
detent positi on: Window moves up
or down as long as the switch is
operated.
Push or pull switch to the second
detent position and then release:
Window opens or cl oses
automatically. To stop window
movement, operate the sw itch
again in the same direction.
If the window glass encounter s
resistance above th e middle of the
window during automatic closing,
it is immediately stoppe d and
opened again .
With the ignition key removed or in
the ST OP position, the windows can
be operated for app rox. 2 minutes
and are deactivate d as soon as a
door is opened .
Light switch:
Turn light swit ch:

Daytime runn ing lights

Tail lights :
Tail lights are il luminated togeth er
with the headlights and side lights.
Reversing light s:
The reversing lights come on when
the ignition is switched on and
reverse gear is s elected.
Front fog lights:
Operated with the
> button.
Switching on front f og lights will
switch sidelights on automatically.
Rear fog li ght:
Operated with the
r button.
The rear fog light can only be
switched on when both the ignition
and headli ghts or sideli ghts (wit h
front fog lights) are on.
Press the button again to turn the
rear fog light off, or turn off th e
headlights and/or the front fog
lights.
Daytime runn ing light s:
Increases vis ibility of the vehicle
during daylig ht.
When the function is activated and
the ignition is switched on, the
headlights com e on automatically
and instrumen t illuminatio n is
subdued.
The light switch must be in
position § .
The daytime runnin g lights switch
off when the ignition is s witched off.
Note:
The driver rema ins respons ible for
switching on th e headligh ts when
required, e.g . when driving through
a tunnel or at night.
When the function is deactivated,
the headlights do not come on
automatically when the ignition is
switched on an d the light s witch is
in position §.
The daytime runn ing lights functio n
can be activated and deactivated
via a menu in the Driver
Information Ce ntre (DIC).
Headlig ht range adju stment:
Adapt headlight range to suit th e
vehicle load to preven t dazzling of
other road us ers.
Press button À or Á until the
required setting is displayed in the
Driver Infor mation Centre (DIC).
Front seats o ccupied = 0
All seats occu pied = 1
All seats occupie d and
load compartment laden = 2
Driver’s seat occup ied and
load compartment laden = 3
Turn and lane -change si gnals:
Lever up = Right turn signal
Lever down = L eft turn signal
If the lever is moved past the
resistance point, the turn signal i s
switched on constantly. When the
steering whe el is moved back, th e
turn signal is automatically
deactivated.
For five flashes, e .g. when
changing la nes, press the lever u ntil
resistance is fe lt and then re lease.
Switch the indi cator off manuall y
by moving the le ver to its original
positio n.
Operating he adlight fl ash, high
beam and low beam:
Headlight flash = Pull lever
towards
steering wheel
High beam = Push leve r
forwards
Low beam = Pull lever

Windscreen wipe r:
É = Fast
È = Slow
Ç = Intermittent wiping
§ = Off
For a single wipe when the
windscreen w iper is off, m ove the
lever up.
Do not use wiper if the windscreen
is frozen.
Switch wiper off in car washes.
Adjustable wiper int erval:
With wiper lever in position Ç ,
the windscreen wiper will
automatically adapt to the speed
of the vehicle.
Windscreen wa sher:
Pull lever toward s steering whee l.
Washer fluid is sprayed onto the
windscreen and the wiper swipes
for a few strokes.
Pull lever an d hold; Wash er fluid is
sprayed onto the windscreen and
the wiper swipes until the lever is
released.
Rear window wiper/was her:
Twist to activate the rear window
wiper.
§ = Rear wiper off
e = Rear wiper on
Push lever to activate rear window
washer. Wash er fluid is sp rayed
onto the rear window and the wiper
swipes for a few str okes.
The rear window wiper comes on
automatically when the winds creen
wiper is switched on and reverse
gear is engaged.
Do not use wiper i f the rear window
is frozen .
Switch wiper off in car washes.
Hazard warnin g flashers:
Operated with the
¨ button.
In the event of an accident wher e
the airbags are deployed the
hazard warnin g flashers ar e
activated automatically.
Heated rear window,
heated exterior mi rrors Ü:
The heating is operated by
pressing th e
Ü button.
Heating works with the engine
running and switch es off
automatically after a short time.
Demisting and defrosti ng
windows V:
Set the temperature control to
the highest le vel.
Set fan speed to highest level.
Set air dis tribution con trol to V.
Switch cooling n on.
Switch heated rear window Ü
on.
Open side air vents and d irect
them towards the door windows.
For simultan eous warmin g of the
foot well, set air dis tribution
control to J.
