Longitudinal seat adju stment:
Pull handle , slide seat, re lease
handle. Ensure the backrest
engages.
Danger:
Do not sit nearer than 25 cm from
the steering wheel, to permit safe
airbag deployment.
Seat backrests:
Pull lever, adj ust inclinati on and
release lever. Allow the seat to
engage audibl y.
Do not angle the backrest too far
back. We recommend a maximum
rake of appro x. 25

Seat heig ht:
Lever pumping motion
up = seat higher
down = seat lower
Lumbar su pport:
Adjust lumbar suppo rt to suit
personal r equirements us ing the
four-way swit ch.
Push switch up or down to move
support up/do wn.
Push switc h forwar ds or bac kwards
to increase/decre ase support.
Head restraint adju stment:
Press the rel ease button, adjus t
height and eng age.
To adjust horizo ntally, pull head
restraint forwards. It engages in
several position s. To return head
restraint to its rearmost posi tion,
pull fully fo rwards and r elease.
Seat belt:
Withdraw seat belt from retractor,
guide it untwis ted across the body
and insert latch plate in belt buck le.
To release be lt, press red bu tton on
belt buckle.
Seat belt height adju stment:
1. Pu ll belt out slight ly.
2. Press button.
3. Adjus t height and engage.
Adjust the height so that the belt
lies across the shou lder. It must not
lie across the throat or upper arm.
Seat position:
Sit with buttocks as far back
against backrest as poss ible.
Adjust distance be tween seat and
pedals so that legs are sl ightly
angled when depres sing pedals.
Steering whe el adjustmen t:
Unlock lever, adjust st eering whe el,
then engage l ever and ensure it is
fully locked .
Do not adjust s teering wheel un less
vehicle is statio nary and steeri ng
wheel lock has been releas ed.
Interior mirror:
Swivel mirr or housing t o adjust.
To reduce dazzle, adjust the le ver
on the underside of the mirror
housing.
Automatic anti -dazzle interior
mirror:
Dazzle from followin g vehicles at
night is automatically reduced if
the vehicle is equipped with an
automatic anti-dazzle interior
mirror.
The lever wil l not be present on the
underside of the mirror ho using.
Electrical ex terior mirrors:
Select the rele vant exter ior mirror
by turning the contro l to the left (L)
or right (R).
Swivel the control to adjust the
mirror.
Child safety sys tem for rear door
power windows:
Press switch z to deactivate rear
door power windows whe n children
are occupying the rear seats.
The LED in the s witch illumin ates
when the child safety system is
engaged.
To reactivate the rear door power
windows, pres s switch z again.
Folding exterior mi rrors:
For pedestr ian safety, the exte rior
mirrors will swing out of their
normal mountin g position if they
are struck with sufficien t force.
Reposition the mirror by applyi ng
slight pressure to the mirro r
housing.
Power windows:
With the ignition on, power
windows are operated via th e
switches in the door.
Press switch = Open window
Pull switch = Clo se window
Press or pu ll switch to the first
detent: window move s up or down
as long as switch is o perated.
Press or pu ll firmly to the second
detent then releas e: window opens
or closes automaticall y. Operate
the switch again in the same
direction to stop window
movem ent.
If the window glass encounter s
resistance during automati c
closing, it is imm ediately stopped
and opened again.
If the windows are operated
repeatedly at short intervals,
window operation is temporarily
disable d.
Light switch:

Automatic ligh t control:
When th e automatic light cont rol is
active and the engine is runn ing,
the system switches be tween
daytime runni ng lights an d
headlights, depend ing on external
lighting cond itions.
During poor externa l lighting
conditions, the headlights will
switch on automatically.
Daytime runnin g lights increas e
visibility of the vehicle during
daylight. The tai l lights are
switched on or of f depending on
country-specific vari ant.
When a tunnel is entered, the
headlights switch o n automatically.
Front fog ligh ts:
Operated with the
> button.
Light switch in pos ition AUTO:
switching on f ront fog lights wil l
switch headlights on au tomatically.
Rear fog light:
Operated with the
r button.
Rear fog light can only be switched
on when both the ignition and
headlights or side lights (with front
fog lights) are switched on .
Light switch in pos ition AUTO:
switching on rear fog light will
switch headlights on au tomatically.
Vehicle rear fog light is d eactivated
when towing.
Headlig ht range adju stment:
Adapt headlight range to the
vehicle load to preven t dazzling of
other road us ers.

Turn and la ne-change signals:
Lever up = Right turn signal
Lever down = Left turn signal
If the lever is moved past the
resistance point, the turn signal is
switched on co nstantly. When the
steering wheel is moved back the
turn signal is automatically
deactivated.
For three flashes , e.g. when
changing la nes, pres s the lever until
resistance is felt and then rele ase.
Move lever to resistance point and
hold for long er indication .
Switch the turn sig nal off manually
by moving the lever slig htly.
Hazard warnin g flashers:
Operated with the
¨ button.
In the event of an accident wher e
the airbags are deployed the
hazard warnin g flashers ar e
activated automatically.
Windscreen wi per:
HI = Fast
LOW = Slow
INT = Timed i nterval wiping
or automatic wiping with
rain sensor
OFF = Off
For a single wipe when the
windscreen wiper is off, pr ess the
lever down.
Do not use if wind screen is frozen.
Switch off in car washes.
Windscreen washer:
Pull lever. Washe r fluid is sprayed
onto the winds creen and the wiper
wipes a few ti mes.
On vehicles fitted with a rain
sensor, keep th e sensor area clea n
by operating th e washer system
regularly.
Rear window wiper/washer:
Press the rocker switch to activate
the rear window wiper:
Upper position ON= S hort interval
Lower position INT = Long interval
Middle pos ition OFF = Of f
Do not use if re ar window is f rozen.
Switch off in car wa shes.
If the lever is pus hed forwards ,
washer fluid is sprayed onto the
rear window and the re ar wiper
wipes a few times.
Rear window wiper co mes on
automatically when th e windscreen
wiper is switch ed on and reverse
gear is engaged .
The vehicle can be config ured to
activate or deactivate this function.
Heated rear win dow, heated
exterior mirror s:
The heating is op erated by
pressing th e
Ü button.
Heating work s with the engine
running and swit ches off
automatically after a short time.
Depending o n engine type, heating
comes on automatically during
driving when the diesel particl e
filter is bein g cleaned.
Demisting and defrosting the
windows:
Press button V :
