Initial operation

1. Reconnect the battery, Fig. 12.

2. Restore complete functioning of the electrical system (clock, trip computer, alarm sys

tem, airbag, immobiliser, etc.).

3. Park the vehicle outdoors to ensure unimpeded GPS reception.

4. Switch on the ignition and the radio.

5. Select the system language required and the preinstalled C-IQ products (see next sec

tion).

Setting the system language

When you start the system for the first time you have the opportunity to set one of

two preloaded languages or to load a different language from the language loading

CD supplied.

Select one of the two languages from the list.

Or:

Select “Load language” if you would like to set a different language.

Insert the language loading CD into the unit.

The languages available on the CD are displayed.

Select the language you want to load.

☞

Then select the previous system language that is to be replaced.

The selected language will be loaded.

Safety instructions will appear after the language has been loaded successfully.

Remove the language loading CD.

■ Activating preinstalled C-IQ products

The C-IQ Easy Start menu is displayed after you have set the system language.

Depending on the scope of delivery of your unit you can choose from various

preinstalled product options (region, activation period, map data, traffic info, travel

info products etc.). For example you can choose between activation for a limited time

period including free C-IQ CD Update Service or unlimited usage*.

To ensure that C-IQ Easy Start functions without problems, it is imperative that the

current date is received by the navigation system via GPS. Therefore park your vehi

cle outdoors.

Insert the map CD for the region you want to activate.

Select the C-IQ product for the required region.

Follow the instructions on the display.

Depending on the scope of delivery some units provide you with the opportunity of

switching between various product options within one test period (e.g. for a limited

time period with update service or unlimited).

Within the test period select “Easy Start” in the “C-IQ” menu if you want to change

your activation option.

Please read the enclosed information material or the “C-IQ - Intelligent Content On

Demand” section for more information in C-IQ products.

* C-IQ CD Update Service free of charge to an address specified by you – registration

required under www.C-IQ.net or by telephoning the C-IQ Service Centre. The update

service is not available for the unlimited use option. Additional costs could arise with

activation for a limited time period.
