Starting the engine:
Set the
D= throttle lever to the MAX
position.
Pull out
G= starter cable slowly to the
point of resistance and
then pull vigorously to
arm's length.
Slowly release the cable
so that it can gradually be
rolled up by the starter.
Repeat until the engine
starts.
19
NOTE
Do not start the blade in
high grass and only start it
at maximum engine speed.
Press
C= blade stop lever in
direction of arrow.
Pull back
A= blade clutch lever straight
in direction of handlebar
(= direction of arrow).
NOTE
Pull back blade clutch lever
quickly to avoid
unnecessary wear in the
blade clutch.
Starting the blade:
Risk of injury!
If the function test fails
(continued audible wind
noise despite relasing the
handlebar), shut off the
engine, detach the spark
plug socket and contact an
authorised dealer (VIKING
customer service).
• Start the engine
as described in the
instruction manual.
• Engage the blade
as described in the
instruction manual.
A running blade generates
a clearly audible wind noise.
The running of the blade can
be checked by means of the
wind noise generated.
• Release the handlebar.
The blade brake clutch
disengages the blade from
the engine drive, causing a
braking action. The blade
quickly comes to a standstill.
This procedure causes the
wind noise to cease. No wind
noise is audible when the
blade is stopped.
