Single current measurement: Leakage current measurement
For this measurement, the current For leakage current measurements, supply and
flowing through a consumer is backflow are enclosed. At proper function
measured. Ensure that only one conductor no measured value must be displayed. Where
at a time is enclosed, because otherwise a display is shown anyway, this may indicate
the supply and backflow currents a current leak. Supply and backflow currents
will negate each other. are not identical.
☞
When a minus “-” appears in front of the measured value when measuring DC, the measured
voltage is negative (or the measuring lines or the probe sensor were connected in the wrong
polarity).
- After measuring, remove the probe converter from the measured object and turn both devices off.
Proceed as described above to measure alternating currents up to max. 40 A:
- Switch on the DMM and select measuring range “ A ”. Press “SELECT” to switch to the AC
measuring range. “AC” appears in the display. Pressing this button again, takes you back etc.
- In the AC measuring range, zero balancing is performed automatically. The rotary control (24) has no
function here.
☞
It is possible that outer influences will prevent the exact zero position from being set (e.g.
0.098 A etc.). In this case, the offset error will be linear throughout the measuring range and
can be subtracted from the measured value. This will not impair the measurement.
- After measuring, remove the measuring lines from the measured object and turn the DMM off.
ƽ
When using the Probe converter (CLA40) in the measurement, make sure the finger
does not go beyond the marked area shown in figure 19.
When the Probe converter CLA40 is on, the LED red light is on. When the battery is
low to around 2.1V, the LED red light will flash to warn user to change battery. to avoid
any errors during measurement.
