It is NOT rec ommended to continue using Dir ect Mode connection after initial installation.
Local access
Y ou may e xperience reduced signal str ength if your
parent unit and baby unit ar e far apart, or ther e are
obstructing factors, such as int ernal walls, betw een
them. Y ou have to set up Router mode to connect
the units via your home Wi-Fi network to impr ov e the
connection between your parent unit and baby unit.

Router mode uses your home Wi-Fi

the MyVT ech Baby P ro mobile app. With the mobile app, your Wi-Fi rout er ( not included)
pro vides Internet connectivity to your HD video monitor system. I t serves as a c ommunicating
channel between your baby unit and mobile de vice, allowing y ou to monitor and/ or contr ol

VT ech cares about your privacy and peace of mind. That’s why w e’ve put together a list
of industry -recommended bes t practices to help keep y our wireless c onnection private
and y our devices pr otect ed when online. W e r ecommend you car efully r eview and
consider complying with the following tips.
Ensur e y our wir eless connection is secure.
• Befor e installing a devic e, ensure your rout er’s wireless signal is encrypt ed by
selecting the “WP A2 -PSK with AE S” setting in y our r outer’s wireless security menu.
Change default settings.
• Change y our wir eless router’ s default wireless ne twork name (SSID) to something
unique.
• Change default passwor ds t o unique, strong passwor ds. A strong passwor d:
- Is at least 10 characters long.
- Is comple x.
- Does not c ontain dictionary wor ds or personal information.
- Contains a mix o f upper case letters, low ercase lett ers, special characters and
numbers.
Keep y our de vices up t o date.
• Download security patches fr om manufacturers as soon as they become av ailable.
This will ensur e you alwa ys hav e the lates t security updates.
• If the featur e is av ailable, enable automatic updates f or futur e r eleases.
Disable Universal P lug and Play (UPnP) on your rout er .
• UPnP enabled on a router can limit the effectiv eness of y our fir ewall b y allo wing
other network devic es to open inbound ports without an y int ervention or appr oval
from you. A virus or o ther malw are pr ogram could use this function to compr omise
security f or the entir e network.
