How the system w orks
VT ech cares about your priv acy and peac e of mind. That’s why we’v e put together a list of
industry-rec ommended best practic es to help keep your wireless c onnection private and
your devices pr otect ed when online. W e rec ommend y ou carefully review and consider
complying with the follo wing tips.
Ensur e y our wireless c onnection is secure.
• Befor e installing a device, ensur e your router’ s wir eless signal is encrypted by selecting
the “WP A2-PSK with AES” setting in your router’ s wir eless security menu.
Change default settings.
• Change y our wireless router’ s default wireless network name (SSID ) to something unique.
• Change default passwor ds to unique, strong passwor ds. A str ong passwor d:
- Is at least 10 characters long.
- Is comple x.
- Does not c ontain dictionary words or personal inf ormation.
- Contains a mix of uppercase letters, lower case letters, special characters and numbers.
Keep your de vices up to dat e.
• Download security patches fr om manufacturers as soon as the y bec ome available. This
will ensure you always ha ve the lat est security updates.
• If the featur e is available, enable aut omatic updates f or futur e releases.
Disable Universal P lug and Play (UPnP) on your router .
• UPnP enabled on a router can limit the e ffectiveness o f your firew all by allowing other
network devic es to open inbound ports without any intervention or appro val fr om y ou.
A virus or other malware pr ogram could use this function to compr omise security f or the
entire ne twork.

Connect the bab y monit or
• The re cha rge able b att er y in the p aren t unit is b uilt-in .
• Use only the power adaptors supplied with this pr oduct.
• Make sur e the parent unit and the baby unit are not connected to an electr onically contr olled electric
outlet.
• Connect the po wer adapt ors in a v ertical or floor mount position only . The adaptor prongs ar e not
designed to hold the weight of the par ent unit and the baby unit, so do not c onnect them t o any c eiling,
under-the-table, or cabinet outlets. Otherwise, the adaptors ma y not properly connect t o the outlets.
• Make sur e the parent unit, the baby unit, and the power adaptor cor ds are out of reach of children.
Charge the paren t unit battery before use
The parent unit runs on an intermal r echargeable batt ery or AC po wer . T o c ontinuously
monitor y our bab y , keep the par ent unit connected t o A C power . With the batt ery alone, the
parent unit cor dlessly runs f or a shorter amount of time.
• Befor e using the baby monitor for the first time, char ge the paren t unit battery for 12 hours. When
the parent unit battery is fully char ged, the battery icon becomes solid .
• The standby time varies depending on your actual use.
The parent unit turns on automa tically aft er c onnecting to the po wer sock et, and the
welcome scr een appears. Y ou can pr ess POWER o turn the par ent unit on or pr ess and hold
to turn it off.

For better security and more s table connectivity , this baby monitor requires
connecting to a Wi-Fi network and oper ating in Router mode connection.
Direct mode
Y our baby monitor paren t unit and baby unit connect t o
each other in Direct mode b y default , which allow s y ou to immediat ely str eam video out of the box.
It is NOT recommended to continue using Direct Mode connection after initial installation.
Y ou may experience r educed signal
strength if y our par ent unit and bab y
unit are f ar apart, or there ar e
obstructing factors, such as int ernal
walls, between them. Y ou have to set
up Router mode to connect the units
via your home Wi-Fi network to
impro ve the connection be tween y our
parent unit and baby unit.
Rout er mode
Y ou are requir ed to set up your monitor
in Router mode to enjo y liv e video
streaming via your parent unit with an
enhanced connection. R outer mode is the
recommended mode f or st able connectivity .
Router mode uses your home Wi-Fi netw ork
to connect your video monitor. It supports
live video streaming through the par ent unit
and smartphone app.
If you wan t to str eam live video remotely
with y our mobile de vice, download and install the MyVT ech Baby Pro mobile app. With the mobile
app, your Wi-Fi r outer (not included) pro vides Internet c onnectivity to y our HD video monitor
syst em. It serves as a c ommunicating channel between your baby unit and mobile device, allowing
you t o monitor and/or control your baby unit wherev er you are. For more details, see Download
app for mobile ac cess section in this quick start guide.
• When both par ent unit and app ar e viewing the camera simultaneously , the video
quality will be optimised t o deliver the best possible vie wing result.
