Connect and charge the par ent unit
Charge before use
• Charge the par ent unit bef ore use. The parent
unit is fully charged after 2.5 hours of con tinuous
charging.
• It tak es longer t o charge when the parent unit is
turned on. T o shorten the charging time, turn the
parent unit off while charging.
• The standby time varies depending on y our actual
use.
After the par ent unit is fully charged,
press and hold to pow er on.
The battery icon indicates the battery status (see
the following table ).

1. Connect the power adapter to the camera
unit and a power supply .
2. Place the c amera unit at a desir ed place.

After y ou hav e paired the camer a unit with
your parent unit via Wi-Fi, you can connect the
camera unit to the Interne t using the network
cable to op timize y our Int ernet connection.

section to set up y our par ent unit and pair y our
camera units.
Connect
Y ou can choose to se t up the camera unit
for desktop usage, w all mounting, or ceiling
mounting.
• Use only the power adapters supplied with this
product.
• Make sur e the parent unit and the camera unit are
not connect ed to the switch c ontrolled electric
outlets.
• Connect the pow er adapters in a vertical or floor
mount position only . The adapters’ pr ongs are not
designed to hold the weight o f the par ent unit
and the camera unit , so do not connect them to
any ceiling, under-the-t able, or cabinet outlets.
Otherwise, the adapters ma y not properly connect
to the outlets.
• Make sur e the parent unit, the camera unit and the
power adapter c ords are out of r each of children.

• Befor e you c onnect the camera unit , make sure you
have In ternet access and a Wi-Fi rout er
(IEEE 802.11 b/ g/n). Charges apply and service plan
may vary for Internet ac cess. Router is not included.

• T o maintain c ompliance with the F CC’s RF e xposure
guidelines, place the camer a unit at least 20cm fr om
nearby persons.

Ensur e y our wireless connection is secur e.
• Befor e installing a device, ensur e y our r outer’s
wireless signal is encryp ted by selecting the
“WP A2-PSK with AES” setting in your rout er’s
wireless security menu.
Change default settings.
• Change your wireless router’ s default wir eless
network name (SSID ) to something unique.
• Change default passwor ds to unique, str ong
passwords. A strong passwor d:
- Is at least 10 characters long.
- Is comple x.
- Does not c ontain dictionary words or
personal information.
- Contains a mix of uppercase le tters,
lower case letters, special charact ers and
numbers.
Keep your devices up to date.
• Download security pa tches from
manufacturers as soon as they become
available. This will ensure you alway s have the
latest security updates.
• If the feature is a vailable, enable automatic
updates f or future r eleases.
Disable Universal P lug and Play (UPnP) on y our
router .
• UPnP enabled on a r outer can limit the
effectiv eness of your firewall b y allo wing
other network devices to open inbound ports
without any interv ention or appr ov al from
you. A virus or other malw are progr am could
use this function t o compromise security for
the entire ne twork.
