• This appliance can be used by children aged from

8 years and above and persons with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of

experience and knowledge if they have been given

supervision or instruction concerning use of the

appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards

involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be

made by children unless they are older than 8 and

supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of

reach of children less than 8 years.

• This appliance is intended for household use only.

• Insert the plug into an earthed electrical socket.

Ensure that the voltage that should be used

corresponds to the voltage speciﬁed on the

appliance.

• The surface may be hot.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced

by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly

qualiﬁed persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• The appliance is not intended to be operated by

means of an external timer or separate remote-

control system.

This appliance comes with a short power cord in order to reduce risks resulting

from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension lead may

be used with care, and the marked electrical rating must be at least as great as the

electrical rating of the appliance. The extension lead must be positioned so that it

will not drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children,

or cause a tripping hazard. The electrical rating of this appliance is stated on the

base plate of the unit.

FIRST TIME USE

Before using the appliance for the ﬁrst time, clean the baking plates with a damp

cloth. We recommend that you season the baking plates with a little oil the ﬁrst

time you use the appliance. You do not need to repeat this later. The ﬁrst two

wafﬂes should not be eaten. The use of cooking spray in the wafﬂe iron is not

recommended.

HOW TO MAKE WAFFLES

1. Close the wafﬂe iron and prepare the batter while the wafﬂe iron heats up.

2. The indicator light around the thermostat button is red. When the indicator

light turns green (after about 4 minutes), the wafﬂe iron is ready for baking.

3. Open the wafﬂe iron and pour the batter into the middle of each of the lower

baking plates. Use the scoop provided to ensure that you have the correct

amount of batter. Close the appliance carefully. Do not force it together.

Steam may be emitted between the baking plates.

4. When the green indicator light goes out, a red light comes on. After several

minutes, the green light comes on again, indicating that the wafﬂes are ready.

5. If you think the wafﬂes are too dark or too light, adjust the thermostat.

NB!

• Ensure that your ﬁngers do not come into contact with the baking plates.

• During baking, the red light will switch on and off and the thermostat will keep

the wafﬂe iron at the appropriate temperature.

• Wafﬂes are cooked in about 3 minutes or longer, depending on your personal

taste. When the wafﬂes are ready, open the wafﬂe iron and remove the wafﬂe

with a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use a metal knife, as this may damage

the non-stick coating.

• The appliance must be kept closed between baking.

• After use, pull the plug out of the socket.

USEFUL TIPS

• Always pre-heat the wafﬂe iron before baking. First insert the plug, and then

prepare the batter while the wafﬂe iron heats up

• If you want light-coloured wafﬂes, turn the thermostat down (to the left). If you

prefer darker wafﬂes, turn the thermostat up (to the right)..

• If the cover does not open easily, leave the wafﬂe to bake for a little longer

and then try to lift the cover again.
