• When not planning to use this unit for long periods
of time (i.e. vacation), disconnect the AC power
plug from the wall outlet .
• Be sure to r ead the “Troubleshooting” section on
common operating errors before concluding that
this uni t is fa ulty.
• Before m oving this un it, press to set thi s unit in
standby mode, and disconnect the power supply
cable from the wall outlet.
• Condensatio n will form when the surroun ding
temperature changes suddenly . Disconnect the
power supply cable from the ou tlet, then leave t he
unit alone.
• Install this unit near the wall outlet and where the
AC power plug can be r eached easily.
• Secure p lacement or installation is the owner’s
responsib ility. Yamaha shall not be liable for any
accident caused by improper placement or
installation of speakers.
• Keep the product out of reach of children to avoid
them swallowing small parts.
Notes on re mote controls and ba tteries
• Do not spill wa ter or other liquids on the remote
control.
• Do not dr op the remote con trol.
• Do not leave or store the remote control in the
following places:
− places of high hum i dity, such as near a bath
− places of high t emperatures, such as near a
heater or a stove
− places of extr em ely low t em peratures
− dusty places
• Do not expos e the remote con trol sensor of t his
unit to direct sunlight or lighting such as inverted
fluorescent la mps.
• If the b atteries grow old, the effective operation
range of the rem ote control decreases
considerably. If this happens, replace the batteries
with two n ew ones as soon as possible.
• Do not us e old batteries to gether with new on es.
• Do not us e different types of batteries (such as
alkaline and manganese batteries) togeth er. Read
the packaging caref u lly as th ese different types of
batteries may have the same shape and color.
• Exhausted batteries m ay leak. If the batteries have
leaked, dis pose of them immediately. Avoid
touching the leaked material or letting it come into
contact with clothing, etc. Clean the battery
compartm ent thorough ly before installing new
batt erie s.
• Do not carry batteries in a p ocket or purse with
metal objects like coins, etc.
• Do not throw away batteries with general house
waste. Dispose of them correctly in accordance
with your local regulations.
• Keep batteries away from children. If a batter y is
accidentally swallowed, contact your doctor
immediately.
• When not planning to use the remote control for
long periods of ti me, remove the batteries from th e
remote contro l.
• Do not charge or disassemble the supplied
batt erie s.
• The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive
heat such as s unshine, fire or like.

If the socket out lets in the home are not s uitable for
the plug supplied with this app liance, it should be cut
off and an appropria te 3 pin plug fitted. For details,
refer to the instructions described below.

The plug severed from the m ains lead must b e

IMPORTANT
THE WIRES IN THE MAINS L EAD ARE
COLOURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
FOLLOWING CODE:
Blue: NEUTRAL
Brown: LIVE
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
apparatus may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected
to the terminal which is mark ed with the letter N or
coloured BLACK. The wire which is coloured
BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter L or coloured RED.
Making sure that neither core is connected to the
earth terminal of the three pin plug.
