all small pieces to be disposed of properly.

you a good overview of how to operate Lucky before you start.
IMPORTANT: Please retain these instructions for future reference.
Installing the Batteries:
CAUTION!
Battery installation should only be performed by an adult.
See BATTERY INFORMATION section later in this manual for other warnings
and information.
After removing Lucky from the packaging, locate the Velcro seam on Lucky’s
belly and pull it open to expose the battery compartment.
Use a Philips
-head screwdriver to loosen the screws over the battery cover and
insert batteries paying close attention to the positive (+) and negative (-) position
of the batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment.
Insert four (4) AA batteries using the diagram provided and replace the battery
cover.
Tighten the screws.
Move the slide switch to the ON position and you are ready to go!
Lucky will wake up and say “Hello!
Getting Started:
Lucky will perform his tricks best on a flat, smooth surface, such as a wood or vinyl
floor. Some tricks may not work well on carpeting.
Lucky is a great dog. He is loyal, friendly, and above all, he can do some amazing
tricks! An attentive listener, Lucky responds to your voice commands to perform
many different tricks, from the basic sit” to some extremely difficult stunts!
Lucky also has a personality all his own and he loves your attention! If you are
ignoring him or not playing with him, he will say and do things to get your
attention! He can be very persistant! He may sneeze, make funny noises, or try
doing a trick to get you to play with him.
If you do not play with him for 3 minutes, he will go into sleep mode until you
press and hold the button on his back for 3 seconds to wake him up.
You can also pet his back and he will respond to you.
Instructing Lucky:
Important Note: It is very important to use the correct command phrase and to
speak clearly at all times when giving Lucky a command. Lucky cannot under
-
stand what you are saying if you use the wrong phrase. This means he may
perform the wrong trick, or no trick at all!
When instructing Lucky to perform a trick, you must first say Lucky’s name to get
his attention. We will call this the “attention phrase.” You will know that he has
heard you when he barks twice after you say Lucky.” This is his way of letting
you know he is waiting for your command.
When you have Lucky’s attention, then you can tell Lucky what trick to perform.
We call this the “command phrase.” This is the phrase that Lucky will recognize.
You must say the correct command phrase for Lucky to understand you.
Example: in order to make Lucky sit down, first say, “Lucky.” After he responds
with two barks, say, “Sit.”
NOTE: If you change Lucky’s name, you must say his new name before each
command to get his attention. His new name now becomes the “attention
phrase.” See section “Changing Lucky’s Name” for more information.
Lucky’s Tricks:
Lucky is well behaved and can be controlled without a leash, showing your
friends that Lucky is very obedient. The following are the Lucky’s tricks. Lucky
will perform when you tell him to:
Speak to Me – Speaking is easy for most pups, but doing so only when asked is
more challenging. To have Lucky speak, simply say, “Lucky” (bark, bark) “Speak to
me!
Sit Down – Lucky will sit down by saying,Lucky” (bark, bark) “Sit.”
Shake Hands – Saying, “Lucky” (bark, bark) “Shake hands” will make Lucky shake
your hand. What a good dog!
Lay Down - Lucky will lay down on the ground when you say “Lucky” (bark, bark)
“Lay down.”
Come Here Many dogs lack the patience to stay until they are called. Lucky,
however, is very smart and will come only when you tell him,Lucky” (bark, bark)
“Come here.”
Intermediate Tricks:
Pounce By saying, “Lucky” (bark, bark) “Pounce,” Lucky will lower himself and
act as if he is pouncing on a toy.
Want a TreatAll dogs love treats and Lucky does too! Say: “Lucky” (bark, bark)
“Want a Treat?” Lucky will show you that he does!
Tug of War One of Lucky’s favorite games is tug of war. By saying,Lucky” (bark,
bark) “Tug of War,” Lucky will get in position for the game, and open his mouth.
He is waiting for you to give him the rope. Once you place the end of the rope in
his mouth, he will close his mouth and begin to play. When he is finished, he will
stand up and open his mouth to release the rope.
Note: Have the rope ready for Lucky before you give him the command to tug.
Advanced Tricks:
Head StandAn extremely difficult trick for any dog is a head stand, however,
Lucky will impress everyone when you say, “Lucky” (bark, bark) “On your head.”
Lucky will stand on his head and then return to a standing position.
Put em Up Lucky loves western movies, and can imitate the bad guys by
holding his paws high in the air when you say, “Lucky” (bark, bark) “Put ‘em up.”
As soon as Lucky puts up his paws, say “Bang bang!” and Lucky will fall over and
play dead. A great trick to show your friends!
Sing a Song Lucky loves to sing one of his two favorite songs for you each time
you say “Lucky” (bark, bark) “Sing a Song.”
Go to Sleep Does your dog go to sleep on command? Well, Lucky does! Say
“Lucky” (bark, bark) “Go to Sleep. Lucky will obey, lay down and go to sleep.
Lucky performs other tricks as well.
Here is a table showing the command phrases and the action Lucky will perform.

Troubleshooting Lucky:
There may be times when Lucky doesnt seem to be responding as quickly as he
should, stops in the middle of a trick, or begins to confuse tricks. In many
instances this is due to low batteries. If your Lucky begins to act in an erratic
manner, first try turning him OFF and then back ON. This resets him and will
sometimes eliminate the problem. If this doesnt work, then you will want to
replace the old batteries (all of them) with fresh batteries. Most problems can be
solved by one of these two methods.
