Dropping the battery may result in an explosion hazard. This
may cause serious or even fatal injuries.
- Never drop the battery when installing or removing.
The battery has to be removed from the holder for charging or prolonged storage,
Removing the battery
Proceed as follows to remove the battery:
- Ensure that the system has been switched off at the display (see: 14 Controlling the pedal
assistance / Switching on and off on p. 47)
- Open the battery lock in clockwise direction using the key supplied and hold the key in this
position.
- Pull the battery out of the holder at the folding handle on the left-hand side of the battery
(as seen in riding direction).
- Release the key.
- Remove the key from the battery lock.
Installing the battery
Proceed as follows to install the battery:
- Make sure that the battery has no visible damage, e.g. a broken casing.
- Ensure that the terminals on the battery and the bike are in good and clean condition.
- Push the battery into the holder until it engages audibly.
