12. Troubleshooting
Problem The speech dialler does not dial.
Cause Number incorrectly dialled.
Remedy Check that the phone number has been correctly entered when
programmed.
Cause If the unit is connected to a PABX system, you may require a pause after
dialling the first digit.
Remedy Program a pause in the telephone number as described in the
programming instructions. If this does not solve the problem, the unit
must be connected directly to a telephone line.
Cause Bad or incorrect telephone connection.
Remedy Check the connections to the telephone line (see Chapter 7).
Problem When the unit calls the recipient, the recipient cannot acknowledge
by pressing

Cause Incorrect acknowledgement setting.
Remedy Refer to the programming instructions to change the setting.
Cause Incorrect telephone connection selected.
Remedy Check that the unit is connected to the right telephone connection.
Cause The recipient’s telephone does not have DTMF (not capable of
acknowledging the SD1+).
Remedy Call the recipient and ask him/her to press the

button on the
telephone for 1 second. If you do not hear a tone, the telephone is not
capable of acknowledging the SD1+.
Problem The recipient is using a mobile telephone and cannot acknowledge
with it.
Cause Poor mobile reception.
Remedy Mobile phones will only work correctly if they are used in an area where
the reception is good.
Problem The SD1+ does not trigger an alarm call, even though the alarm control
panel responds.
Cause Incorrect trigger input polarity.
Remedy Check the jumper-link "TRIG. POLARITY” setting.
Cause Incorrect trigger voltage.
Remedy Measure the trigger voltage and correctly set it.
