■ Rot ate the lower bla de g uard (2) by han d. L oosen,
but do not remov e, t he co ver p late screw (4) usin g
the Phillips end of combination wrench.
■ L i f t t h e l o w e r g u a r d u p a n d t i l t t h e l o w e r g u a r d
assembly back so the arbor screw (27) is exposed.
■ Fi t 6. 35 m m he x en d of c om bi na ti on t oo l in a rb or
screw or use 12.7 mm box end wrench.
Note: T he arbor screw (27) has a left hand thread.
This helps p revent unwan ted loosenin g of the arb or
screw during normal operation.
■ Re move t he arb or scr ew, a rbo r w ash er (31 ), out er
blade flange (30), and the blade.
Note: Pay at tention to p ieces r emoved, noting their
p os it io n a nd d ir e ct io n t he y fa c e (s e e il lu s tr at io n ).
Wipe the b lade coll ars clean of any sa wdust bef ore
installing the new blades.
CAUTION

■ Install the new 305 mm blade. Make sure the rotation
ar row on th e b lade ma tch es the cl ockw ise ro tati on
ar row on th e upp er gu ard . Th e b lad e tee th sho uld
always point downward at the front of the saw .
■ I n st a l l t h e o u te r b l a de f la n g e , a rb o r w a s he r a n d
a r b o r s c r e w . P r e s s t h e a r b o r l o c k a n d t u r n t h e
combination wrench or the 12.7 mm wrench counter
clo ckwise to sec ure the blade . Tighten arb or s crew
using moderate force, but do not overtighten.
■ Low er the low er blad e gu ard unt il the slo t i n co ver
plate rests all the way down on the cover plate stop
screw . Tighten the screw with the Phillips end of the
combination wrench.
DANGER

securely in place. It keeps the arbor screw from
falling out if it accidentally loosens, and prevents
the spinning blade from coming off the machine.

the blade clears the table slot at the 0° and 45°
bev el posi tions . L ower the bl ade int o th e t able
slot and check for any contact with the base or
turn table structure. If blade contacts table, seek
authorized service.

adjustment.

Compound Miter Saw th ere are four basic con trols that
must be understood.

to change the miter setting of the blade:
- Raise the miter lock lever (15).
- R o t a t e t h e m i t e r i n d e x w h e e l ( 3 4 ) p a r t i a l l y
d o w n w a r d t o d i s e n g a g e t h e c u r r e n t i n d e x a n d
engage the next index.
- Rotate the miter index wheel completely downward
to bypass all miter indexes.
- Turn the table (6) to the desi red m iter settin g an d
lock the miter lock lever .

- Pu ll the be vel lo ck leve r forw ard . Th en rota te the
bevel index pin downward. This will allow the blade
t o b e t il t e d a nd at th e s a me t im e “ b y- p as s ” t h e
preset bevel indexes.
- T o engage the preset bevel indexes, rotate the bevel
lock index pin up.
- Engage bevel lock lever before cutting.
