The timer setting allows you to set a stop time. While setting the timer (steps 1.-3.) the following functions are active: the light in the oven, the turntable drive, and
the fan. The microwave radiation remains switched off and will be activated in step 4. This function is intended for when you wish to set a short time period for
cooking food.
For example: You want to set a cooking time of 3 minutes.
1. Press the STOP/CANCEL button.
2. Press the MICRO button 6 times.
3. Turn the MENU/TIME knob to 3:00.
4. Press the START button.
Keypad block (Child safety mechanism)
Press and hold the STOP/CANCEL button for 3 seconds. The display shows LOCK.
To remove the lock: Press and hold the STOP/CANCEL button for 3 seconds. The LOCK on the display disappears.
GUIDELINES ON OPERATION
1. Place the food in a suitable container and put in on the turntable, so that neither the container nor the food sticks out over the edge of the turntable.
2. Arrange the food so that the thickest parts are on the outer edges of the turntable.
3. Cover the food. By doing so it is cooked more equally and does not spray so much.
4. Observe the cooking time. Cook for the shortest stated time period and increase it where necessary. If cooked for longer periods food can start to
smoulder or ignite.
5. Turn the food during the cooking process as it can shorten the time required. Large pieces of food have to be turned over at least once. To do so the door
has to be open so that the cooking process is interrupted.
6. Stir soups and arrange other parts from top to bottom or from the middle to the outside.
7. Ensure that the food keeps a sufficient distance from the grill.
8. With thicker pieces of food it is recommended to use combined mode. The microwave cooks the piece initially and the grill then gives it the desired colour
or crispiness. Using the grill alone can cause the food to be burnt on the outside but not thoroughly cooked in the middle.
CROCKERY
The ideal containers for microwaves are transparent. They allow microwaves through so that the food is heated and not the container.
Microwaves cannot penetrate metal, which is why metallic objects convert microwave energy into heat and become hot. Sparks can also be produced, which is
why metallic objects are not supposed to be placed in microwave ovens.
Do not use recycled paper as it can contain metallic fragments (see above: sparks, fire hazards).
Round and oval containers are preferred as in rectangular one food can be heated too much in the corners.
Plastic crockery can be used in microwave mode, but not in grill or combined mode. Conversely metallic crockery can be used for grilling, but must not be used
in microwave or combined mode.
Notes:
1. Grill rack (9) can be used in Grill and Combined mode.
2. Glass turntable (7) should always be used.
3. Suitable dishes can be placed on the Grill rack (9) during operation (make sure it will not touch the heating element) or directly on the glass turntable (7).
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR MICROWAVE GRILL
1. Cleaning the microwave oven is an essential part of the secure operation of the device and the prevention of health hazards.
2. The device must be cleaned at regular intervals and foods remains have to be removed. If the device is not cleaned regularly it can be the case that the
surfaces wear down and the durability of the device is severely reduced. Furthermore it can reduce the safety and operation of the device.
3. If the door seal cannot close securely due to food remains being stuck there, microwave radiation can escape and cause damage to health.
4. Clean the device after use in order to avoid an infestation of mildew or bacteria, as well as to prevent microwave radiation escaping.
5. Switch your microwave off and pull out the power plug before you clean it.
6. Do not use steam cleaners! Steam is emitted under high pressure and can condense on electrical components inside the device and cause short-circuits
there.
7. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or metallic scrapers to clean the door, as these scratch the surfaces which can cause the glass to crack.
8. Clean the casing with a damp cloth. Make sure that no water gets inside the casing.
9. Clean the door seal, the cooking area and the parts next to it regularly and carefully with a damp cloth. Wipe away food remains or splashes of food with a
damp cloth. Place a damp cloth on food remains that are stuck in place and let them soften up for a while before wiping them off.
10. Ensure that the control panel does not get wet. Only clean it with a soft, damp cloth. While you are cleaning the control panel leave the door open, to
prevent accidentally switching on the device.
11. If steam condenses inside the device or on the casing and drops form, wipe them away with a soft cloth. Condensation can occur where damp air meets a
cool surface. Oils and fats can also evaporate under very high temperatures and condense after cooling down to form a layer or fat.
12. The glass turntable can be removed for cleaning. Clean the glass turntable with warm washing-up liquid or in a dishwasher.
13. The ring and the floor of the cooking area should be cleaned regularly in order to prevent excessive noise. Just wipe the surface of the floor with a mild
cleaning agent and let it dry. If the ring is removed for cleaning, made sure that it is reinserted correctly afterwards. Clean the door, the glass plate and the
seal regularly with a damp cloth in order to remove dirt.
14. You can neutralise smells in the cooking area by cooking a deep, microwave-suitable cup of water with lemon juice for 5 minutes in the microwave. Then
wipe the inside of the device once more and dry it with a soft cloth.
15. If the cooking room lamp has to be exchanged, please inform customer service.
