The vibration level given in this information sheet has been
measured in accordance with a standardised test given in
EN 60745 and may be used to compare one tool with anoth-
er. It may be used for a preliminary assessment of exposure.
The declared vibration emission level represents the main ap-
plications of the tool. However if the tool is used for different
applications, with different accessories or insertion tools or is
poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This
may significantly increase the exposure level over the total
working period.
An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration should also
take into account the times when the tool is switched off or
when it is running but not actually doing the job. This may sig-
nificantly reduce the exposure level over the total working
period.
Identify additional safety measures to protect the operator
from the effects of vibration such as: maintain the tool and the
accessories, keep the hands warm, organisation of work pat-
terns.
Assembly
Battery Charging
Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. Only
these chargers are matched to the lithium-ion battery of
your power tool.
Note: The battery supplied is partially charged. To ensure full
capacity of the battery, completely charge the battery in the
battery charger before using your power tool for the first time.
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without re-
ducing its service life. Interrupting the charging procedure
does not damage the battery.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharging
by the “Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)”. When the battery is
empty, the machine is switched off by means of a protective
circuit: The inserted tool no longer rotates.
Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after the
machine has been automatically switched off. The bat-
tery can be damaged.
Observe the notes for disposal.
Removing the battery
To remove the battery 5, press the battery unlocking button 6
and pull the battery upward out of the power tool. Do not ex-
ert any force.
Battery Status Indicator (4)
The charge-control indicator displays the charge condition of
the battery for several seconds when the On/Off switch is
half-pressed or fully pressed; it consists of 3 green LEDs.
The 3 LEDs in the charge-control indicator flash quickly
when the temperature of the battery is outside of the op-
erating temperature range of –30 to +65 °C and/or the
overload protection has been triggered.
Mounting the Protective Devices
Before any work on the machine itself (e. g. mainte-
nance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool.
There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating
the On/Off switch.
Note: After breakage of the grinding disc during operation or
damage to the holding fixtures on the protection guard/pow-
er tool, the machine must promptly be sent to an after-sales
service agent for maintenance. For addresses, see section
“After-sales Service and Application Service”.
Protection Guard for Grinding
Fitting the protective guard:
Turn the black plastic ring (see Figure B) until the groove 24
on the ring meets the slot for the nose on the clamping lever 1.
Place the protective guard 11 with the four noses in the four
grooves on the bearing seat (see Figures B and C).
Press the protective guard 11 downwards and turn it clock-
wise into the required working position (see Figure D). The
clamping lever 1 automatically clamps the protective guard
securely in this working position.
Adjusting the protective guard:
Turn the protective guard 11 in the clockwise direction only
into the required working position. The clamping lever 1 auto-
matically clamps the protective guard securely in this working
position.
Adjust the protection guard 11 in such a manner that
sparking is prevented in the direction of the operator.
Note: The encoding keys on the protection guard 11 ensure
that only a protection guard that fits the machine type can be
mounted.
Removing the protective guard:
Turn the protective guard 11 so that the four noses engage in
the four grooves on the bearing seat (see Figure B) and re-
move the protective guard.
