structions . Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warni ngs and instructions fo r future refer-
ence.
The term “power tool” in the warning s refers to your
mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-ope r-
ated (cordless) power tool.
Work area safety
f Keep work area clean and wel l lit. Cluttered or
dark areas invite accidents.
f Do not operate power tools in explosive atmos-
pheres, such as in the presence of flam mable liq-
uids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks
which may ignite the dust or fumes.
f Keep children and bystan ders away while op erat-
ing a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
Electrical safety
f Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapt-
er plugs with earthed (grounded) po wer tools. Un-
modified plugs and matc hing outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock.
f Avoid b ody conta ct with ear thed or grou nded sur-
faces, such as pipes, radi ators, ranges and refrig-
erators. Th ere is an increased risk of electric shoc k
if your body is earthed or grounded.
f Do not expose power tools to rain or wet condi-
tions. Water entering a power tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
f Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for car-
rying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Kee p
cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving
parts. Damaged or entangled cord s increase the
risk of electric shock.
f When operatin g a power tool outdoors, u se an ex-
tension c ord suitable for outdo or use. Use of a
cord suitable for outdoor use re duces the risk of
electric shock.
f If oper ating a pow er tool in a damp location is un-
avoidable, use a residu al current device (RCD)
protected supply . Use of an RCD reduces the risk
of electric shock.
Personal safety
f Stay alert, watch what yo u are doing and use com-
mon sense wh en operating a power tool . Do not
use a power tool while you are tired o r under the
influence o f drugs, alco hol or medic ation. A mo-

eye protection . Protective equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protecti on used f or app ropriat e condit ions wi ll re-
duce personal injuries .
f Prevent uninten tional starti ng. Ensure th e switch
is in the off-posi tion before connecting to pow er
source and/or battery pack, pi cking up or carrying
the too l. C arrying power tools w ith your finger on
the switch or energising power tools that have the
switch on invites accidents.
f Remove any ad justing ke y or wre nch before turn-
ing the power tool on. A wrench or a ke y left at-
tached to a rotating part of the power tool may re-
sult in personal injury.

from movin g parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.

extraction and collection faciliti es, ensur e these
are connected an d properly u sed. Use of dust col-
lection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care

er tool for your applic ation. The cor rect power tool
will do the job better and safer at the rate for which
it was designed.

turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the swi tch is dangerous and must
be repai red.
f Disconnect the plug from the powe r source and /or
the battery pack from the power tool before mak-
ing any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing powe r tools. Such preve ntive safety meas-
ures reduce the ri sk of starting the pow er tool acci-
dental ly.
f Store id le power to ols out of the rea ch of childr en

er tool or these instructio ns to operate the power
tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of un-
trained users.

binding of moving parts, breaka ge of parts and
any other co ndition th at may affec t the power
tool’s operation. If damage d, have the power too l
repair ed before use . Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
