Important!
• Storing the watch for long periods in an area where there is no light or
wearing it in such a wa y that it is block ed from e xposure to light can cause
rechargeable battery power to run down. Be sure that the watch is nor mally
e xposed to bright light whenever possib le.
• This watch uses a special rechargeable battery to store power produced b y
the solar cell, so regular battery replacement is not required. Howe ver , after
v ery long use, the rechargeable battery may lose its ability to achie ve a full
charge. If you experience problems getting the special rechargeable battery
to fully charge, contact y our dealer or CASIO distributor about ha ving it
replaced.
• Nev er try to remove or replace the w atch’s special battery yourself. Use of
the wrong type of battery can damage the watch.
• All data stored in memor y is deleted, and the current time and all other
settings return to their initial factory defaults whene ver battery power drops
to Lev el 5 and when you ha v e the battery replaced.
• T ur n on the watch’s P o wer Saving function and k eep it in an area normally
e xposed to bright light when storing it for long periods. This helps to k eep
the rechargeable battery from going dead.

• The flashing LOW indicator at Lev el 3 tells y ou that battery power is very
low , and that e xposure to bright light f or charging is required as soon as
possible.
• At Lev el 5, all functions are disabled and settings return to their initial
factory defaults . Once the battery reaches Lev el 2 (indicated by M indicator)
after falling to Le v el 4, reconfigure the current time, date, and other
settings.
• Display indicators reappear as soon as the battery is charged from Le vel 4
to Lev el 2.
• Leaving the w atch exposed to direct sunlight or some other v ery strong light
source can cause the battery power indicator to show a reading tempor arily
that is higher than the actual battery level. The correct battery lev el should
be indicated after a f ew minutes.
• P erf orming multiple sensor, illumination, or
beeper operations during a short per iod may
cause RECO V to appear on the displa y .
Illumination, alarm, countdown timer alarm,
hourly time signal, and sensor operations will
be disabled until battery power reco vers .
After some time, battery power will recov er and
RECO V will disappear , indicating that the
abov e functions are enabled again.
• Even if battery power is at Lev el 1 or Le vel 2, the Digital Compass Mode ,
Barometer/Thermometer Mode, or Altimeter Mode sensor may be disab led
if there is not enough v oltage availab le to power it sufficiently . This is
indicated by RECO V on the display .
• If RECOV appears frequently , it probably means that remaining battery
power is lo w . Lea ve the w atch in bright light to allow it to charge.

Charging Precautions
Certain charging conditions can cause the watch to become very hot. A void
leaving the w atch in the areas described below whene ver charging its
rechargeable battery .
Also note that allowing the watch to become v ery hot can cause its liquid
crystal display to blac k out. The appearance of the LCD should become
normal again when the watch returns to a lower temperature.
W arning!
Leaving the watch in bright light to c harge its rechargeable battery can
cause it to become quite hot. T ake care when handling the watc h to
av oid burn injury . The watch can become particularly hot when exposed
to the follo wing conditions for long periods.
• On the dashboard of a car parked in direct sunlight
• T oo close to an incandescent lamp
• Under direct sunlight
Charging Guide
After a full charge, timek eeping remains enabled f or up to about six months.
• The follo wing table shows the amount of time the w atch needs to be
exposed to light each da y in order to gener ate enough power f or normal
daily operations.
• Since these are the specs, we can include all the technical details .
• W atch not e xposed to light
• Internal timekeeping
• Displa y on 18 hours per da y , sleep state 6 hours per day
• 1 illumination operation (1.5 seconds) per da y
• 10 seconds of alarm operation per da y
• 10 digital compass oper ations per week
• 10 hours of altimeter measurements , once per month
• Stable operation is promoted b y frequent charging.

Reference
This section contains more detailed and technical information about watch
operation. It also contains important precautions and notes about the various
features and functions of this w atch.
Auto Return Features
• The watch automatically returns to the Timekeeping Mode if y ou do not
perform any b utton operation for tw o or three minutes in the Data Recall,
Alarm, Digital Compass, or Barometer/Thermometer Mode.
• If you do not perf orm any button operation while in the Altimeter Mode , the
watch automatically returns to the Timekeeping Mode after nine or 10
hours.
• If you leav e a screen with flashing digits on the displa y f or two or three
minutes without performing any oper ation, the watch automatically e xits the
setting screen.
P ower Suppl y
This watch is equipped with a solar cell and a special rechargeable battery
(secondary batter y) that is charged by the electrical power produced by the
solar cell. The illustration sho wn below sho ws how you should position the
watch for charging.
Example: Orient the watch so its face is
pointing at a light source.
• The illustration shows how to position a
watch with a resin band.
• Note that charging efficiency drops when
any part of the solar cell is blocked b y
clothing, etc.
• Y ou should tr y to keep the watch outside
of your slee ve as m uch as possible . Ev en
if the face of the w atch is only partially
bloc ked from light, charging will be
significantly reduced.

Scrolling
The A and C buttons are used on the setting screen to scroll through data
on the displa y . In most cases , holding down these b uttons during a scroll
operation scrolls through the data at high speed.
