Important!
• If you want to perf orm both bidirectional and nor therly calibration, be sure
to perform bidirectional calibration first, and then perf orm nor therly
calibration. This is necessar y because bidirectional calibration cancels any
pre viously set nor therly calibration setting.
• The more correctly you perf orm bidirectional calibration, the better the
accuracy of the bearing sensor readouts. Y ou should perform bidirectional
calibration whene ver y ou change environments where y ou use the bearing
sensor , and whene ver y ou feel that the bearing sensor is producing
incorrect readings.
Precautions about bidirectional calibration
• Y ou can use any two opposing directions for bidirectional calibr ation. Y ou
must, how ev er , mak e sure that they are 180 degrees opposite each other .
Remember that if you perf orm the procedure incorrectly , you will get wrong
bearing sensor readings.
• Make sure that you do not mov e the w atch while calibration of either
direction is in progress.
• Y ou should perfor m bidirectional calibration in an en vironment that is the
same as that where y ou plan to be taking direction readings. If y ou plan to
take direction readings in an open field, f or e xample, calibr ate in an open
field.
To perform bidirectional calibration
1. Press A to enter the Digital Compass Mode.
2. Hold down E until
x1x appears on the
display , which indicates the setting screen.
• At this time, the magnetic north pointer
flashes at the 12 o’ clock position to indicate
that the watch is ready to calibrate the first
direction.
3. Place the watch on a lev el surf ace f acing any direction you w ant, and
press A to calibrate the first direction.
•
xxx is shown on the displa y while calibration is being perf ormed.
When calibration of is successful, the displa y will show
OK and x2x ,
and the magnetic north pointer flashes at the 6 o’ clock position. This
means that the watch is ready f or calibration of the second direction.
4. Rotate the watch 180 degrees .
5. Press A again to calibrate the second direction.

• If

screen, it means that there is something wrong with the sensor . When
ERR

again. If
ERR
keeps appearing, contact your original dealer or nearest
authorized CASIO distributor to hav e the w atch checked.
To perform northerly calibration
1. While in the Digital Compass Mode, hold
down E until
x1x appears on the display ,
which indicates the setting screen.
2. Press D to star t the nor therly calibration
procedure.
• At this time,

Barometer and Thermometer Precautions
• The pressure sensor built into this w atch measures changes in air
pressure, which you can then apply to y our o wn weather predictions. It is
not intended for use as a precision instrument in official weather prediction
or repor ting applications.
• Sudden temperature changes can affect pressure sensor readings .
• T emperature measurements are affected b y y our body temperature (while
you are wearing the watch), direct sunlight, and moisture . T o achieve a
more accurate temperature measurement, remo ve the w atch from your
wrist, place it in a well ventilated location out of direct sunlight, and wipe all
moisture from the case. It tak es appro ximately 20 to 30 minutes f or the
case of the watch to reach the actual surrounding temperature .
Pressure Sensor and T emperature Sensor Calibration
The pressure sensor and temperature sensor b uilt into the watch are
calibrated at the f actory and nor mally require no further adjustment. If you
notice serious errors in the temperature readings produced by the w atch, you
can calibrate the sensor to correct the errors .
Important!
• Incorrectly calibrating the barometric pressure sensor can result in incorrect
readings. Bef ore perf orming the calibration procedure, compare the
readings produced by the watch with those of another reliab le and accurate
barometer .
• Incorrectly calibrating the temperature sensor can result in incorrect
readings. Carefully read the f ollowing bef ore doing an ything.
Compare the readings produced by the w atch with those of another reliable
and accurate thermometer .
If adjustment is required, remove the w atch from y our wrist and wait for 20
or 30 minutes to giv e the temperature of the watch time to stabiliz e.
To calibrate the pressure sensor and the temperature sensor
1. Press B to enter the Barometer/
Thermometer Mode.
2. Hold down E until
SET appears in the
upper display area.
3. Release E , and wait f or four or fiv e more
seconds until either
OFF or the current
reference temper ature value (if set) start to
flash. This is the setting screen.
• If you want to calibrate the barometric
pressure sensor , press D to mov e the
flashing to the middle display area. This is
the pressure sensor calibration screen.
• At this time,
OFF or the barometric
pressure value should be flashing on the
display .
4. Use the C (+) and A (– ) buttons to set the

Calibrating the Bearing Sensor
Whenev er you suspect that direction readings produced b y the watch are
wrong, you should calibrate it. Y ou can use either one of two calibration
procedures:
bidirectional calibration
or
nor therly calibration
.
Use bidirectional calibration when you w ant to take readings within an area
exposed to magnetic f orce. This type of calibration should be used if the
watch becomes magnetized f or any reason.
With nor therly calibration, you “teach ” the watch which wa y is north (which
you hav e to determine with another compass or some other means). Y ou
could use this calibration procedure, f or e xample, to set the w atch to indicate
true nor th instead of magnetic nor th.
