Thermo-Precision infrared forehead thermometer

Dear customer,

We thank you for having purchased a Thermo-Precision Forehead, the thermometer that takes a

fast, precise body temperature reading from a distance.

Thermo-Precision Forehead is an innovative method for measuring body temperature. Thanks to

the exclusive infrared technology it detects body temperature from a distance of 0.5 cm (0.2 inch)

up to the distance of 10 cm (4 inch) from the forehead.

Innovative technology and modern design of Thermo-Precision Forehead is the solution, ideal for

the entire family.

The thermometer measures the infrared radiation given off by the surface of the forehead and

converts this measurement into the corresponding oral temperature.

Thermo-Precision Forehead is produced using the most advanced technologies and undergo rigor-

ous quality controls, in compliance with EC regulations, thus guaranteeing utmost quality and

precision.

BODY TEMPERATURE

Body temperature varies from person to person and undergoes different ﬂuctuations during the

course of the day, running approximately from 35.5°C to 37.8°C (95.5°F - 104.04°F).

For these reasons, to correctly determine the temperature, it is best to know one’s normal, healthy

temperature as measured on the forehead at various times of the day. This will provide a valid ref-

erence when evaluating any real rise in temperature. To determine if one has a fever, compare the

temperature detected with the person’s normal temperature. Remember, a rise over the reference

body temperature of 1° C (1.8°F) or more is generally indication of fever.

HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENT

Tips for a correct temperature measurement

In order to take the temperature in the best possible way, a few simple rules should be followed:

• The thermometer automatically adjusts its reading of forehead temperature on the basis of

room temperature. For this reason, in order to obtain a correct reading, the thermometer

should be in the room where measurement will take place at least 20-25 minutes prior to

measurement. Also the person, whose temperature will be taken, should remain in the same

room as the thermometer for at least 15 minutes before having his/her temperature taken.

• Before taking the temperature, wipe the forehead to remove perspiration and wait a few min-

utes before measurement.

• Avoid taking a measurement for 30 minutes after physical exercise, bathing or eating.

• For greater measurement accuracy, at least 2 minutes should pass between two measure-

ments.

• Avoid direct sunlight or other heat sources, or direct air conditioner ow on the forehead while

taking temperature, since these factors might interfere with the measurement, inuencing re-

sults.

When pointed at a hot object, the thermometer does not measure the actual temperature of

the object, since IR radiation depends on the characteristics of the body being measured and

the device in question is obviously calibrated on the coefcient of radiation of human skin

(which is very different from that of any other material). To avoid erroneous readings, minimize

the time from thermometer “READY” to scanning the forehead.

• Do not expose the thermometer to extreme temperatures (lower or higher than the prescribed storage

temperatures -20°C + 55°C), dust or shock; otherwise the sensor could be irreparably damaged.

• Do not splash the thermometer with water.
