Insert the batteries/ rechargeab le batteries in the corre ct polarity. Don’t try to
recharge non-rechargeable ba tteries and under no circu mstances throw them i nto
fire. Danger of explosion.
Do not use unequal batteries (old and new, Alkaline and carbon , etc.)
simultaneously. If you will not use the device for a long time, remove the batter ies
and store the device in a d ry and dust-free place. Improper use of batterie s may
cause an explosion or leakage. If the batteries have lea ked, use gloves and clean
the appliance thoroughly with a dry cloth.

recognize the possible dangers p roperly. Batteries/ rechargea ble batteries ca n
be life threatening when swallo wed. Store the batteries where they can not be
reached by small children. If a bat tery is swallowed, med ical aid must be soug ht
immediately.

Setup of the heart rate mo nitor
Use a coin to unscrew the ba ttery cover on the back side of the chest belt and
insert the 3V battery with the (+ ) sign facing up. Screw the ba ttery compartmen t
cover back into the case.
Remove the protective film from the display and pre ss MODE, SEL or SET.
Now select English, German , French or Spanish lan guage by pressing SEL and
confirm your setting by pres sing SET.
Select the unit KM-KG
METRIC KM - KG KM - KG KM - KG
or Miles/pounds
IMPERIAL M - LB M - LB M - LB
in the same way. Complete the setting procedure by p ressing MODE.
The watch can be reset by pres sing and holding SET and SEL together. Only af ter
reseting the watch the other la nguage can be selected.

Adjust the chest belt so tha t it fits
snugly directly below the che st
muscles. Moisten the contac t areas
with water or ECG gel (ECG gel can
be purchased at a pharmacy). Ensure
that the contact areas constan tly
remain in skin contact.
Position the chest belt as pe r the
following illustration.
Please ensure that the che st belt is
seated properly. When you ha ve
exhaled completely the chest belt
should still have very slight tension
pressing it to your chest.
High voltage power lines, Train s or
moving vehicular traffic may interfere
with the heart rate measurement.
Please consider this when plan ning
your exercise route.

The included bicycle holder can
be used to attach the wrist watch
to the handlebar of a bicy cle.
Press the bicycle holder onto the
top of the handlebar. Handle bars
with an especially large diame ter
may require the use of additional
force to snap on the bicycle
holder. The heart rate monitor can
now be attached to the bicycle
holder in the same way that you
would attach it to your wrist.
The maximum range of 70cm bet ween the wris t watch and the chest belt should
not be exceeded.

Press SEL to select a setting an d confirm your setting by pressing SET. Set the

Press SEL to set the year and pre ss SET to confirm yo ur setting. Set the mon th and
day in the same way.

Press and hold SEL for 3 se conds. The watch will s witch to the second time zo ne
display and T2 will appear on the display. Setting the second time zone can be
accomplished in the same way a s described in the p revious paragraph .
Press and hold SEL for 3 se conds to return to normal time mod e.
Alarm

Press and hold SET for 3 secon ds to enter setting mode.
"AL" will appear on the displa y and the minutes of the alar m time will blink.
Press SEL to set the minutes an d press SET to confirm you r setting. Set the hour s in
the same way.
You may optionally set the mo nth and day as well.
If neither month nor day are set the alarm will sound daily. If the day is set, the
alarm will sound monthly. If bo th the month and the da y are set the alarm will
sound only at the set date.
The hourly chime setting will now appear on the displa y
CHIME STDALARM SIGN HOR HORA AL
Press SEL to select a setting an d confirm your setting by pressing SET
(ON/EIN/ACTIF/E NCENDID=on,
OFF/AUS/INACTI F/APAGADO=off).
If the chime is activated, the bell symbol will appear and the watch will chi me at
the beginning of every hour.
Exit setting mode by pressing MODE. The alarm can be a ctivated or deactiva ted
by pressing SET. If the alarm i s activated the alarm symbo l wil l appear.
