correctly.
Connecting the Playback Components

• Connect the cables to be used.
• With HDMI connections, the video and audio signals can be transferred with a single cable.

NOTE
• The component video connectors may be indicated differently on your monitor. For details, see the
monitor’s operating instructions.
• To play the sound by AVR-1508, make analog or digital audio output connections to AVR-1508’s audio
input connectors.
• The audio signals output from the HDMI connectors are only the HDMI input signals.
• AVR-1508’s S-Video connectors (input and output) and video connectors (input and output) have
independent circuit structures, so that video signals input from the S-Video connectors are only output
from the S-Video connector outputs and video signals input from the pin connectors are only output from
the pin connector outputs.
When connecting this unit with equipment that is equipped with S-Video connectors, keep the above
point in mind and make connections according to the equipment’s instruction manuals.
• The signals input to the color difference (component) video connectors are not output from the VIDEO
output connector (yellow) or the S-Video output connector.
• Connect an HDP (High-Definition Player) in the same way.
• When using a optical cable for the digital audio connection, make the settings at “System Setup” – “Input
Setup” – “Digital In Assign” (vpage 24).
• AVR-1508’s S-Video connectors (input and output) and video connectors (input and output) have
independent circuit structures, so that video signals input from the S-Video connectors are only output
from the S-Video connector outputs and video signals input from the pin connectors are only output from
the pin connector outputs.
When connecting this unit with equipment that is equipped with S-Video connectors, keep the above
point in mind and make connections according to the equipment’s instruction manuals.
