Traffic Program (TP)
TP identifies programs that carry traffic announcements.
This allows you to easily find out the latest traffic conditions in your
area before leaving home.
Radio Text (RT)
RT allows RDS stations to send text messages that appear on the
display.
NOTE
The operations described below using [SUBTITLE/PTY], [ZOOM/RT]
and [ANGLE/CT] will not function in areas in which there are no RDS
broadcasts.
RDS (Radio Data System)
RDS (works only on the FM band) is a broadcasting service
which allows a station to send additional information along
with the regular radio program signal.
The following three types of RDS information can be
received with this unit:

Set the band to “FM”, then press [AUDIO/RDS] until
“RDS SEARCH” appears on the display.

Press [TUNING +/–].
The RDS search operation starts automatically.
When a broadcast station is found, that station’s name appears
on the display.
b If no RDS station is found when all the frequencies are searched,
“NO PROGRAM” is displayed.
RDS Search
Use this function to automatically tune to FM stations that
provide the RDS service.
Clock Time (CT)
Use this to correct the time of the clock on the this unit.
Press [ANGLE/CT] button when the time service of an RDS station is
being properly received. “TIME” is displayed for 2 seconds and the
this units clock is corrected. “NO TIME DATA” is displayed if the RDS
station does not offer a time service and when the broadcast is not
being received properly.
When the [o p] is pressed during the RDS search operation, all
frequencies are searched once.
To only preset
q Press [MEMO] while the broadcast station is tuned in.
w Select the number using [ui], then press [ENTER].
Or use [NUMBER] (0 ~ 9, +10) to select the number.
NOTE
If a station is preset at a number that has already been preset, the old
settings are deleted and replaced with the new settings.
Automatically Presetting FM Stations
(Auto preset)
Up to 60 stations can be preset.

Press <FUNCTION> or [FM/AM] to select “TUNER”.

Press and hold in <13>.
“AUTO PRESET?” and “–NO/ +START” are displayed
alternately.
b Press <–> to cancel auto presetting.

Press <+>.
“SEARCH” flashes, then “COMPLETED” is displayed.
• Broadcast stations whose antenna signal is weak cannot be preset
automatically. If you wish to preset such stations, tune them in
manually, then perform the operation at “Naming the currently tuned
in broadcast station and presetting it”.
• Once auto presetting starts, it cannot be canceled (it takes about 60
seconds to be completed).
Use <+/–>, [CHANNEL] or [NUMBER] (0 ~ 9, +10) to select
the preset number.
