opening system Go Simply. If you have any questions, contact

PLEASE NOTE!

■The article is used to open the tailgate of a vehicle automati-

cally after it has been unlocked. The article is attached to the

damper rods of the tailgate.

■Beware of injuries! After the tailgate is unlocked, it springs

open and ﬂ ips up a few centimetres. Make sure that children in

particular stand well back!

■The article should only be used as described in these instruc-

tions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.

■The article is designed for personal use only and is not intend-

ed for commercial applications.

■The warranty excludes any defects caused by improper use,

damage, attempts at repair or incorrect entries in the control

software. This also applies to normal wear and tear. The article

is both installed and used at your own risk.

■The functionality of the article is dependent on the condition of

the dampers that are ﬁ tted. They should be 100% intact.

■It takes around 14 days for the article to adjust to the condi-

tion of the vehicle and all mechanisms to work perfectly. If the

article does not work optimally in the ﬁ rst few days, this is not a

defect. If you experience persistent complications, contact the

customer service department.

■Close the tailgate carefully the ﬁ rst time you check if it is working.

■There may be restrictions on functionality in colder tempera-

tures.

• 2 shrink tubes incl. spring and washer

• Installation instructions

Installation

You require: 1 ﬂ at screwdriver, a little adhesive tape, 2 sets of pli-

ers (combination and / or pipe pliers), 1 long-nose pliers if neces-

sary;

for Golf VI: Torx T30 (hexalobular) screwdriver

Unpack the items supplied and check them for completeness and

for possible transport damage. If you ﬁ nd any damage, do not (!)

use the article, but rather contact the customer service depart-

ment.

During installation, support the tailgate or ask some-

body to help you so that it stays open.

Open and support

the tailgate.

Use the screwdriver

to lever open the

locking mechanism

on the damper.

Detach the ball

holder from the ball

head.

4 5 To prevent any

scratching of the

damper rod and the

ball holder, wrap a

piece of adhesive

tape or cloth around

it.

6 7 Use pliers to hold the

damper rod securely,

use the other pliers

to release the ball

holder and then twist

it off completely. Re-

move the adhesive

tape again.

8 9 Slide the shrink

tube (incl. spring

and washer) with

the large opening

at the front onto the

damper rod.

10 11 Install the damper:

Screw the ball holder

onto the damper rod.

Force apart the lock-

ing mechanism (with

long-nose pliers)

and secure the ball

holder to the ball

head.

Proceed in exactly the same way with the second damper.

After installation, the tailgate can be fully opened at the touch of a

button on the RRC (radio remote control).

NOTE: If the shrink tubes rest too loosely on the dampers, they

can be shrunk using hot air (from a hot air gun).

Special Features

Golf VI: In addition

release the damper

holder with a Torx

T30 (hexalobular)

screwdriver, rotate it

by 180° and secure it

in place again.

For the following vehicle types, please consult a specialist garage:

Golf V: Following installation, adapt the software of the control

device so that the key function can be activated.

12-Byte STG / 19-Byte STG:

• Select STG 46 (comfort system)

• STG long coding

• Function 07

• Select Byte 01 Bit 4 (ZV tailgate soft touch)

Passat 3B / 3BG Variant: The “soft touch function” must be en-

coded so that the lock is completely unlocked and the tailgate can

spring open.

For the Passat 3B, a three-button RRC along with a control de-

vice is required. Otherwise the boot has to be unlocked by hand.

Disposal
