HOW TO USE

1. Insert your hands and the hand dryer will start automatically, creating sheets of air to scrape water from your hands.

2. Move your hands up and down slowly through the air.

Problem Action

The hand dryer fails to start. Check fuse/circuit breaker is working and that the power supply is connected. Must be

performed by a qualiﬁed electrician.

If a safe method of switching is available, turn the unit on and off. If a safe method is

not available, a qualiﬁed electrician must perform this task.

The hand dryer sometimes cuts out when in use but

resumes operation after a period of time.

Check the air inlet is clean and free of dust. If the air inlet is dusty or dirty simply remove

the dust or debris with a soft cloth.

The dry time of the hand dryer has increased. Inspect the inlet grille for dust and remove.

Inspect ﬁlters and change if required.

The air ﬂow from the hand dryer has decreased. Inspect the inlet grille for dust and remove.

Inspect ﬁlters and change if required.

USE IN FOOD PREPARATION AREAS

This hand dryer is suitable for use in food preparation areas. However to use a PC-ABS model in food handling areas

two rubber front fascia plugs must be installed. These are different from the plugs received with the unit.

If you are a food manufacturing, processing or catering unit please contact the Dyson Helpline in the number on the

back cover. You will receive a fascia plug pack, which includes the rubber plugs and instructions for fitting.

CLEANING

The hand dryer should be cleaned daily. Follow these 3 simple steps to ensure the machine performs to its best and

remains hygienic. Using the wrong cleaning method or product may invalidate your warranty.

1. Wipe all surfaces and the 4 sensor lenses with a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner. Particular attention should be

paid to the seals and sides of the unit.

2. Clean the air inlets on the base REGULARLY.

3. Clean the floor beneath and around the unit. This may be required more regularly in high use areas.

GENERAL ADVICE

All cleaning chemicals should be used exactly as indicated by the manufacturer’s instructions (including

appropriate dilution).

If a cleaning product is left on the machine for too long, a film will form. This may reduce the effectiveness of the anti-

microbial surfaces.

Any chemicals intended for use should first be tested on an inconspicuous area to confirm suitability.

Aside from cleaning chemicals, care should be taken to avoid any harmful fluids from coming into contact with the unit,

in particular oils and alcohol-based products.

CHEMICAL GUIDELINES

Many professional cleaning chemicals can be used. The following are some that are harmful to the unit and should not

be used. Use of these will invalidate your warranty.

Do not use:

Alcohol-acid mixes

Alcohol

Solvent /oil-based products

Quaternary ammonium

Alkali-bleach mixes

Foaming ingredients

Bleach or abrasive cleaners

Do not pressure wash

WATER GUIDELINES

This hand dryer has an IP35 certification.

Hand clean only. Do not pressure wash. Pressure washing may force water inside the casing, creating a risk

of electric shock and invalidate your warranty.

FILTER MAINTENANCE/AIR INLET

Regularly check the air inlet at the base of the hand dryer to ensure that it is free from dust and debris. Simply wiping

the inlet with a soft cloth should be sufficient to remove dust and debris.

If required for high usage environments, a Dyson filter change kit provides everything needed to change your machine’s

HEPA filter on site. Contact the Dyson Helpline at 1-888-DYSON-AB for more information.

Filter cleaning or replacement for your hand dryer can be carried out by carefully following the instructions given in the

filter change kit. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician or contact the Dyson Helpline at 1-888-DYSON-AB

for support.

You will need your serial number, which is on the rating plate on the base of your unit, on a registration sheet in the box,

and also on an information sticker on the front of the unit when it is unpacked.

Please ensure all instructions and guidance in this operating manual and the installation guide are adhered to or your

warranty may be invalidated.

YOUR LIMITED WARRANTY

Terms and Conditions of the Dyson 5 year parts warranty and 1 year limited laborwarranty.

If you have registered your unit online, your warranty will start from the date of purchase. Please retain your proof of

purchase. If you do not have your proof of purchase, your warranty will start 90 days after the date of manufacture,

according to Dyson’s records.

This warranty will be void if the unit is installed and used in a country outside the one in which it was sold.
