If so, switch on the computer and check again the DCF Receiver for the correct receive. If it

functions properly, the source of the interference was probably the monitor. In this case try to locate

the DCF Receiver in another place.

Otherwise, connect the RS-232 cable to the computer and check the DCF signal again.

If the signal has deteriorated, the source of interference must be the switching power supply of your

computer. Some older types of computers contain switching power supplies, which may interfere

with the functioning of the DCF Receiver. In this case the computer should be grounded properly.

7. In case of difficulties with proper location/orientation of the DCF Receiver, keep the following

rules in mind:

- the DCF Receiver should not be placed too close to other electronic devices.

- the DCF Receiver should not be placed too close to metal objects or located in a shielded

room (case).

- the DCF Receiver should lie on a flat surface with the LED diode upwards.

- the DCF Receiver should be properly oriented with respect to the transmitter.

- the DCF Receiver is affected by the weather conditions (atmospheric

fronts, storms, sunrise or sunset).

In general, the DCF Receiver should be treated as a common LW radio set.

8. If there is no time or date on the display of the Central Unit after two seconds, press the reset

button in the small hole in the bottom part of the Central Unit case (using e.g. a sharp-tipped

ball-point).

Warning: The Central Unit should be reset only when it does not start properly. This may be

necessary when the battery is empty, in this case you have to wait a few hours until the battery is

recharged.

The Central Unit should not be disconnected from mains until the recharging is completed.

If resetting the Central Unit has no effect, check the fuse on the rear panel (Be sure that the power

cable is disconnected when you change the fuse).

After the proper start of the Central Unit the display should show the time and date alternately. If the

Central Unit has been disconnected for more than 18 hours, or has not received 19 impulses within

18 hours, the display starts to flash. This means that the time and date of the Central Unit are no

longer valid and automatic transmission of time and date to the computer is stopped. Now it is only

possible to set the time on user's request but the user is informed that the current time and date are

not guaranteed.
