Assembly
Preparation
Danger Risk of injury!
Failure to observe the instructions may result in prob-
lems and risks when using the lavastone gas grill.
Always follow all assembly instructions provided.
1. First completely read through the assembly instructions.
2. If necessary, have another person assist you.
3. Take enough time for the assembly and clear a work area of
two to three square meters.
4. Arrange the required tools so that they are within reach.
Small parts such as handles may be premounted.
Required tools
1 x pliers
1 x cross-head screwdriver
1 x 8,
10, 14 and 17 spanner and, where required under national
regulations, the correct sized spanner for mounting the gas hose
1 x (rubber) hammer
Assembling the grill
1. Insert the two plastic feet (2) from the accessories bag in the
bottom end of two support legs (1) (see Fig. 1).
2. Screw these two legs securely on the right side of the base
plate (3). Screw the two remaining legs (1) securely on the
left side of the base plate (3).
For each leg use two screws, lock washers and nuts from
the fixings bag
A
(see Fig. 2). Attention: The closed side of
the base plate should be facing upwards.
3. Insert the axle (4) on the left side of the base plate through
the legs and base plate.
Push one wheel (5) onto the axle on each side.
Screw both wheels tight using a 14 socket wrench or span-
ner with the self-locking nuts from the fixings bag
D
. In the
process, hold the axle in place with a pliers. Press the two
wheel caps (6) onto the wheels (see fig. 3).
4. Insert the 4 end caps (7) into the open profile ends of the
support legs. If necessary, use a rubber hammer (see Fig. 4)
5. Fix three wooden support boards (8) onto the horizontal por-
tion of each support leg. Use the 25 mm s
B
crews from the
fixings bag for this (see Fig. 5).
The wooden support boards are manufactured from planta-
tion timber which is naturally very resistant to weathering
and which has also been treated.
However, since this is a natural product, minor differences in
colour may occur in the final state.
6. Screw the two supports (9) securely to the support legs us-
ing 8 6x35 mm screws, lock washers and nuts. You will find
the assembly materials in the fixings bag
A
(see Fig. 6).
7. Insert the fitting (11) through the two large holes of the front
panel (10) from behind. Ensure that the round cam on the
fitting is correctly positioned in the hole between the two
temperature controls (see Fig. 7).
Screw the fitting securely to the front panel using the
6x12 mm cross-head screw from the fixings bag
D
.
Insert the Piezo lighter (12) into the hole to the right of the
fitting and screw it to the front panel from behind using the
large speed nut (see Fig. 7).
8. Push the two temperature controls (13) onto the fitting pins
in the front panel (see Fig. 8).
9. Screw tighten the front panel to the supports using 2 tapping
screws 4x12 mm from the screw bag
D
(see Fig. 9).
10. Fix the grill pan (15) to the supports. To do this use 4
spacer sleeves (14) and 4 5x20 mm screws, lock washers
and nuts from the fixings bag
D
(see Fig. 10).
11. Screw the two lid hinges (17) to the back of grill pan using
the screws, lock washers and nuts from the fixings bag
E
(see Fig. 11). At first, tighten the nuts somewhat by hand
only.
Place the lid (16) on the grill pan and screw the other side
of the lid hinges with the holes on the back side of the lid.
Use the screws, lock washers and nuts from the fixings bag
E
(see Fig. 11). Here too, tighten the nuts by hand only at
first.
Align the lid (16) correctly. It must close snugly on all sides.
After achieving a snug fit, tighten all the nuts.
12. Insert the screw from the fixings bag
C
into the lid han-
dle (18), then through the heat-resistant washer (19) and
through the hole in the lid.
Tighten the screw with a lock washer and nut from the fix-
ings bag
C
(see Fig. 12).
13. Push the four window holders (21) onto the corners of the
viewing window (20).
The window holder clips must be positioned on the under-
side of the viewing window.
Lay the assembled viewing window on the cutout in the
open lid and carefully bend the window holder clips in the
corners of the holder outwards (see Fig. 13).
Attention Never use the grill if the pane is damaged or not in
place.
When assembling ensure that the window is correctly and se-
curely in place. If this is not the case, under no circumstances
continue working but repeat the previous step, correcting the
position of the window.
14. Run the grease pan holder (22) through the rear, intermedi-
ate hole of the grill pan (see Fig. 14).
15. Insert the burner (23) through the large opening in the pan
from above with the tubes facing downwards (see Fig. 15).
Attention: The nozzles on the fitting must extend into the
tube ends of the burner.
The tube ends rest loosely above the nozzles. This air
gap is necessary!
16. Screw the 4 feet of the burner to the grill pan using the tap-
ping screws from the fixings bag
D
(see Fig. 16).
Insert the ignition box cable through the pan downwards
and towards the front, taking the shortest route. Insert the
cable into the Piezo lighter (12) from behind.
