Care and C leaning of y our V acuum
Sealer
T o Clean Appliance:
Remove Power Cord from electrical outlet. Do not immerse in liquid.
Check Gaskets G H and around Drip T ray K to make sure they
are free from food materials. Wipe off Gasket G H with warm
soapy cloth if needed. Upper and Lower Gaskets G H may be
removed for cleaning. Clean with warm, soapy water .
The Removable Drip T ray K makes clean-up easy when small
amounts of liquids are pulled into the V acuum Channel J during
vacuum process.
Empty Drip Tray K after each use. W ash in warm soapy water or
place on top rack of dishwasher . Dry thoroughly before re-inserting
into the appliance.
P roblem Solution
Cannot insert a bag into the
vacuum sealer .
• Make sur e that there is enough bag material to r each the centre of the drip tray .
Always allow about 75mm extra space to allow the bag to seal tightly ar ound the
food contents.
• Gently stretch the bag flat while inser ting into the vacuum channel. Mak e sure
that the end of the bag curls down into the vacuu m cha nnel.
Air was removed from the bag, but
now air has re-entered.
• Examine the seal. A wrinkle along the seal may cause air to r e-enter the bag. T o
prevent wrinkles in the seal, gently stretch the bag flat while inserting bag into the
vacuum channel.
• Moisture or food material (such as juices, grease, c rumbs , powd ers) along the seal
prevents the bag fr om sealing properly . Cut the bag open, wipe the top inside of
the bag and reseal.
• Sharp food items may have punctured the bag. Use a new bag if ther e is a hol e.
Cover sharp food items with a soft cushioning ma terial, such as a paper towel, and
reseal.
• F ermentation or the rele ase of natural gases fr om inside the food s may hav e
occurred. When this happens, food may have begun to spoil and should be
discarded.
The bag has melted.
• The sealing strip may have become too hot. Always wait at least 20 seconds for
the appliance to cool down before you vacuum seal another item.
• Use F oodSaver® brand bags. F oodSaver® Bags and Rolls are specially designed
for F oodSaver® appliances.
FoodSaver® Container does not
vacuum.
• The lid of the container must be correctly placed on and aligned to the container .
• Make sur e you press the Accessory but ton.

Clean unit thoroughly as detailed above.
After the unit has been cleaned and allowed to fully dry , close lid and
slide the Lock Latch E into the open (top) position C . This setting
prevents any undue pressure from being applied to the internal
sealing gaskets G H of the unit.
Always leave lid latch in open position C when not in use. Never
store lid in OPERA TE position D as gaskets G H may become
compressed and the unit may not function properly .
