instructions to operate the pow er tool. P ower tools are dan-
gerous in the hands of untrained users .
e) Maintain pow er tools. Check for misalignment or binding
of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition
that may a ec t the pow er tool’ s opera tion. If damaged,
have the po wer tool repaired before use . Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained po wer tools.
f ) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cut-
ting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control .
g) Use the pow er tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in ac-
cordanc e with these instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the w ork to be performed. Use of the
power tool for oper ations di erent from those intended could r esult
in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have y our power tool serviced by a quali ed repair person
using only identical replacemen t parts. This will ensure that
the safety of the power tool is maintained.
6) Emissions
- The speci ed vibr ation emission value was measured by
a standardised test methods and can compare with other
power tools ar e used.
- The speci ed vibration emission value can also be neces-
sary for the assessment of work breaks ar e used.
- The speci ed vibration emission value can v ar y during the
actual use of the elec tric tool by specifying the value , de -
pending on the way ho w to use the power tool .
- Note: Y ou create the privilege against vascular pulsa tions of
the hands in time breaks
7) Chainsaw safty warnings:
• Keep all parts of the body away fr om the saw chain when the
chain saw is opera ting. Befor e you start the chain saw , make
sure the saw chain is not c ontacting anything. A momen t of
inattention while opera ting chain saws may cause entangle-
ment of your clothing or body with the sa w chain.
• Alway s hold the chain saw with your right hand on the rear
handle and your left hand on the front handle . Holding the
chain saw with a reversed hand con guration increases the risk of
personal injury and should never be done.
• Hold the electric equipment by its insulated handle surfaces,
as the chainsaw can come in to contact with its own mains
power cable . If the chainsaw comes into contact with a live cable,
it can energise metal parts of the equipment and cause an electric
shock.
• W ear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protec-
tive equipment f or head, hands, legs and f eet is recommend-
ed. Adequate protective clothing will reduc e personal injur y by ying
debris or accidental contact with the saw chain.
• Do not operate a chain sa w in a tree. Operation of a chain saw
while up in a tree may result in personal injury .
• Alway s keep proper f o oting and opera te the chain saw only
when standing on xed, secur e and level sur face . Slipper y or
unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause a loss of balance or
control of the chain saw .
• When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert for spring
back. When the tension in the wood bres is released the spring
loaded limb may strike the oper ator and/or throw the chain saw out
of control .
• Use extreme caution when cutting brush and saplings. The
slender material may catch the saw chain and be whipped tow ard
you or pull you o balance.
• Carry the chain saw b y the front handle with the chain saw
switched o and a way from y our body . When transporting
or storing the chain saw alwa ys t the guide bar cov er . Proper
handling of the chain saw will reduce the lik elihood of accidental
contact with the moving saw chain.
• Follow instructions for lubricating , chain tensioning and
changing accessories . Improperly tensioned or lubricated chain
may either break or increase the chance for kickback.
• Keep handles dry , clean, and free from oil and grease . Greasy,
oily handles are slippery causing loss of control .
• Cut w ood only. Do not use chain sa w for purposes not in-
tended. F or example: do not use chain saw for cutting plastic,
masonry or non-wood building materials. Use of the chain saw
for operations di erent than intended c ould result in a hazardous
situation.
8) Causes and opera tor prev ention of k ickback:
Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches
an object, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in
the cut.
Tip contact in some cases may cause a sudden rev erse reac tion, kick-
ing the guide bar up and back towards the operator .
Pinching the saw chain along the t op of the guide bar may push the
guide bar rapidly back towards the operator .
Either of these reactions may cause you to lose contr ol of the saw
which could result in serious personal injury . Do not rely exclusiv ely
upon the safety devices built into your sa w. As a chain saw user ,
you should take several steps t o keep your cutting jobs free fr om
accident or injury.
Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating pro-
cedures or conditions and can be a voided by taking proper precau-
tions as given below:
• Maintain a rm grip , with thumbs and ngers encircling the
chain saw handles, with both hands on the sa w and position
your body and arm to allow y ou to resist kick back forc es. Kick-
back forces c an be controlled by the oper ator, if proper prec autions
are taken. Do not let go of the chain saw .
• Do not overreach and do not cut abov e shoulder height. This
helps prevent unintended tip contact and enables better contr ol of
the chain saw in unexpected situations.
• Only use replacement bars and chains speci ed by the manu-
facturer . Incorrect replacement bars and chains may c ause chain
breakage and/or kickback.
• Follo w the manufac turer’ s sharpening and maintenance in-
structions for the saw chain. Decreasing the depth gauge height
can lead to increased kickback.
• Set the loop so that it is not detec ted during opera tion of
branches or the like .
9) Important instruc tions for y our personal safety
a) General safety instructions
1. Children and young persons under 18 may not operate electrical
