CAUTION – Do not use any abrasive or corrosive cleaners (e.g. grill clea-
ner, bleach), cleaning pads, chemicals, or any hard or sharp-edged objects for
cleaning the appliance or any part of it, because this could affect or damage the
surfaces, especially the non-stick coating of the fondue pot. Do not use any hard
or edged objects for cleaning the appliance.
CAUTION Always remove the fondue pot from the heating base,
before moving the appliance! Otherwise, the fondue pot could fall. Do not leave
the power cord hang down, when moving the appliance.
Always clean the appliance after each use to prevent residues of food from drying
on the surfaces and, during the next use, carbonize, burn in, or even catch fire. The
following parts and accessories of the appliance are dishwasher-safe: fondue dis-
hes, fondue pot, forks holder, fondue forks.
IMPORTANT - Dispose of fat and juices as compost or in a closed vessel in dome-
stic waste. Do not pour any fat or juices in the sink to avoid clogging the outlet
pipe.
1. Switch OFF the appliance (turn the control dial counter-clockwise to “OFF”) and
unplug the appliance from the power outlet. Let the appliance cool down.
2. Remove and empty the fondue pot and all fondue dishes.
3. Clean the fondue pot, fondue forks, forks holder, and fondue dishes in warm
dishwater using a nylon washing brush or soft sponge. Rinse the parts with clear
water. Alternatively, you may clean these parts in an automatic dishwasher.
NOTE
Stubborn residues on the surfaces of the dishwasher-safe parts can be removed
by soaking these parts in warm dishwater before cleaning. Discolouration on the
fondue dishes may be removed via a stainless steel cleaning agent. Thereafter,
thoroughly wash the fondue dishes again, as described in step 3.
CAUTION – Always ensure not to spill any liquids in or on the heating
base. As well, do not spill any liquids into the gap between the central platform
and the revolving disc of the turn table.
4. Wipe the heating plate, the exterior of the heating base, the turn table and
power cord carefully with a soft cloth, damped with some warm dishwater. The-
reafter wipe with clear water.
5. Thoroughly dry the appliance and all parts and accessories of it. Then, allow
drying naturally for 1/2 hour, where the appliance and all parts are out of
reach of young children and animals.
CLEANING THE TURN TABLE AND MAKING IT MOVABLE
CAUTIONAlways avoid spilling liquids into the gap between central
platform and revolving disc of the turn table to avoid damage to the bearing. For
cleaning, only wipe the turn table using a damp cloth that will not drip.
When the revolving disc of the turn table moves only with high resistance, residues
of food or liquids may have got into the bearing between the central platform and
the revolving disc. Remove residues of food using the following method.
1. While holding the turn table in an upright position, brush out any residues of
food from the gab between central platform and revolving disc via a soft and
DRY nylon brush.
2. Try to turn the central platform. Hold the turn table upside down and turn the
central platform/revolving disc to and fro several times.
3. If required, repeat the steps 7 and 8, until the revolving disc can be moved easi-
ly again.
STORAGE
WARNING – Always switch OFF the appliance (control dial to “OFF”),
unplug from the power outlet and allow the appliance to cool down sufficiently,
when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning or moving the appliance.
Do not let the power cord hang down and remove the fondue pot from the heating
base, when moving the appliance. Always place the appliance on a stable, cle-
an, and dry surface, where it is safe from frost and inadmissible strain (mechanical
or electric shock, heat, moisture), where it is out of reach of young children and
animals and where it can not fall. Do not place any hard or heavy objects on the
appliance to avoid damage.
Always handle the power cord with care. The power cord may never be knotted,
twisted or squeezed. Do not pull or strain the power cord. Do not hold the heating
base by the power cord for moving the heating base.
1. Unplug the appliance and leave the appliance cool down sufficiently. Clean the
appliance (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’).
2. Place the heating base on a stable, level, and clean surface. You may store the
turn table in an upright position. However, in this case, ensure that the turn table
cannot roll down.
