Deactivating coding
1 If you wish, for example, remove the car radio, activate the
EXPERT control level then select »SAFE« in the display.
2 Briefly press the »EXPERT« button to activate the setting.
– Indication in the display: »E1 - - - -«.
3 Enter the code number using the station buttons »1«, »2«, »3«,
and »4».
4 To confirm the entry, press the »EXPERT« button until »CODE«
appears briefly in the display. After about 3 seconds the radio
will play.
– Coding is deactivated.
Note:
If you enter an incorrect code number, »SAFE« remains in the
display and the radio does not play. Begin the procedure again
observing the waiting periods between the attempts. For this,
see page 40.
Return to operation
The car radio is electronically disabled after it has been discon-
nected from the car battery (or permanent plus, terminal 30), e.g.
after the radio has been removed during servicing. To put it back
into operation, it is necessary that you enter your code number.
1 Switch the car radio on.
– Indication in the display: briefly »SAFE«, then »1 - - - -«.
– The »1« indicates the number of entry attempts.
2 Enter the code number using the station buttons »1«, »2«, »3«,
and »4». (How to enter the code number is described on page
38).
