Searching for a passage within a file or track
1 During playback, press »R-SKIP 8« or »F-SKIP 9« and hold it
down until you find the passage you want to hear.
– When you release »R-SKIP 8« or »F-SKIP 9«, playback begins.
Note:
During the search, the volume is reduced in CD-DA mode; in MP3 mode
the volume is muted.
Selecting albums and files (MP3 only)
1 During playback, press »STOP

« once.
– Playback stops.
– Display: the current album and the current file.
– The album search function is activated.
2 Keep pressing
»R-SKIP 8« or »F-SKIP 9« briefly until the number
of the album you want appears in the display.
– Playback starts with the first file of the selected album.
3 Keep pressing
»R-SKIP 8« or »F-SKIP 9« briefly until the number
of the file you want appears in the display.
– Playback of the selected file starts automatically.
Special CD mode features
Playing the introductions of files or tracks
1 Press »INTRO/REPEAT/TIMER« when the CD is in the STOP position.
– Display in MP3 or CD-DA mode: »INTRO«.
– Playback starts automatically, and the first ten seconds of each track
are played.
2 To quit the function, press »INTRO/REPEAT/TIMER« until »INTRO«
disappears from the display.
– The current file or track and those that follow are played to the end.
Playing back files or tracks in random order
1 Press »PLAY/PAUSE

II« to start playback.
2 Press »PROG/RANDOM/TIME« to select the function.
– Display in MP3 or CD-DA mode: »RANDOM«.
– The files or tracks on the CD are played back in random order.
3 To quit this function, press »PROG/RANDOM/TIME«.
– Display in MP3 or CD-DA mode: »RANDOM« disappears from the
display.
– The files or tracks are played back in numerical order.
