The total construction of the unit guarantees
maintenance-free operation over a long period
of time.

defect” (at the end of the manual).
Do not expose cassettes to high temperatures
(see the manufacturer's instructions) and
after use, put back into cassette cases.
Clean the screen with a soft, dust-binding and
anti-static cloth. Polish and cleaning solution
can damage the surface of the screen.
The recording head must be free of dust and
particles to avoid avoid loss of treble
responses.
You should therefore clean the recording head
with a cleaning cassette after every 50 to 100
operating hours.

The first three searches cover the entire

minimum volume
, even if the volume set is
lower.
– If you only want to hear traffic
announcements, set the volume to “zero”.
Radio Data System (RDS)
RDS is an information system, whose
signals are broadcast in addition to the FM
radio station.

With RDS programmes, you see the abbrevi-
ated name of the programme in the display,
e.g. >BAYERN 3 <
which stands for Bayerischer Rundfunk –
Programme 3.
Please note that RDS programmes can have
different re
gional stations and programme
names.
Alternative frequencies
An RDS programme is broadcast by several
stations, each with a different broadcast
frequency (alternative frequencies).
You select an RDS programme and your car
radio always tunes to a station with good
reception that is broadcasting the same RDS
programme.
