Use the grind time selection knob to set the length of grind. The length can be set between 1 and
50 seconds and corresponds with the amount of ground coffee produced. Any amount from 2 to
10 cups can be processed in a single cycle.
Since different types of coffee and other factors such as cup size and your personal preference
may require different grind settings, we recommend that you try out whatever setting suits your
personal taste.
The maximum capacity of the collection container is 8.5 ounces (240 grams).
CAUTION: Always make sure that you empty the collection container, because an overfull
container may cause blockage.
GRINDING THE BEANS
NOTE: If making espresso and using a portafilter, follow the instructions in the next section, “Using
a Portafilter”.
Ensure that the collection container lid is properly fitted before attaching the container itself to the
main unit.
Plug in the appliance, and then press the on/off button.
The grinding process stops automatically when the selected amount of ground coffee has been
produced. The process can be stopped at any time by pressing the on/off button again.
When grinding has finished, unplug the appliance and wait until the motor has come to a complete
stop before removing and opening the collection container.
NOTE: To ensure optimum coffee flavor, only the required amount of beans should be ground
immediately before brewing. Any excess ground coffee should be stored in an airtight container.
USING A PORTAFILTER
Pick the appropriate holder (large or small) for your portafilter. Position the portafilter holder under
the grind mechanism. Slide and lock it into place. Then, slide your portafilter into the holder.
Press the portafilter into the black button on the wall of the grinder to begin. Hold until satisfied
with the amount of espresso, and then release.
NOTE: There is no need to press the on/off button on top of the unit when using a portafilter. The
portafilter button starts the grind on its own.
