AS SEMBLING THE E X TENSION POLE & H ANDLE (# 3)
When you recei ve deliver y of the dev ice, the extension pole and handle are not yet a ssembled. To
assemble, pr oceed as follows :
1. Slide the extension pole into the f astening r ing at the end of the dev ice. Align the ar row mark on t he
extension pole with the „open lock“ s ymbol on the fas tening ring.
2. Push the extension pole into the f astening r ing until the pole is in place.
3. Now turn t he bar anti-clockw ise until the ar row mark on t he handle aligns with the „closed lock“
symbol on the fa stening ring.
MOUNTING T HE GUIDE WHEEL S (#4)
1. Unscrew the holder for the guide wheels so that you c an ea sily inser t the wheels onto the guide rail at
the rear of the de vice.
2. Place the holder in the guide r ail and slide the holder down towards t he nozzle. Make sure that the c able
points towards t he handle and lies behind the guide wheel holder.
3. Now tighten the holder using the side wheel .
4. SELECTING T HE PO SIT ION: You can choose between 3 posit ions. The guide wheels c an click into 3
different pre-se t positions, and can be fixed using t he side wheel.
USE
GET TING START ED
1. Before use of the dev ice, at tach the extension pole w ith handle as descr ibed above.
2. Secure the c able using the c able guide and cable clamp.
3. At tach the de sired at tachment as de scribed in t he section „ Changing att achments“.
4. Connect the power cor d.
Switc hing on:
1. Point the hot air nozzle with t he desired at tachment away fr om the body.
2. Slide the on/off switch into t he desired position. You can choose bet ween 2 set tings :
- Position I - 60°C (cooling )
- Position II - 650°C (weed killing, paint remov al, gr ill lighter - nozzle optionally available)
The air volume in both posit ions is 500l/min.
CHANGING AT TACHMEN TS (#5)
DEV ICE MUST BE SW IT CHED OFF , DISCONNECT ED FROM THE M AINS, AND COOLED!
1. There are 2 do t marking s on the lef t and right of bot h att achments.
2. Align these with t he guide rail on the hot air nozzle.
3. Slide the at tachment into the guide and loc k the att achment in an anti-clock wise direc tion. Make sure
that the at tachment is secur ely locked in place.
CLE AR WEEDS (LE VEL 2) - C ONE NOZ ZLE or CRE VICE NOZ ZLE
1. Slide the On/Off s witch to position II. Allow the de vice to heat up f or approx. 45 sec onds. Make sure that
you do not allow the nozzle to res t on sensitive sur f aces such as wood, a s this could lead to sc orch mar ks.
2. Hold the conical or cr evice nozzle over t he weeds for at least 5 sec onds. In the c ase of str onger weeds
or plants with t hick, deep root s (e.g. dandelions) incre ase the duration of applic ation. Dur ing this
proces s, the c ell str ucture of t he weeds is destr oyed. This usually kills t he weeds within 24 hours . It
is not neces sar y to completely burn t he weeds. A few seconds are sufficient - e ven if the visible par t
of the weed still appear s green, this is c ompletely normal and doe s not represent a shor t coming. The
effect will be visible in t he next few hours .
3. For efficient treat ment, the nozzle should be ma x. 3 cm above the weeds . Never place the conic al or
crevice nozzle dir ectly on the floor, this could lead to a build-up of heat and damage to the de vice!
NOTE S & TIP S:
• The thicker the r oot, the longer you should hold t he device over the plant in or der to achieve the las ting effect
of permanent weed removal . For weeds with par ticularly t hick and/or deep roots (e.g. d andelions) it may be
neces sar y t o repeat the t reatment sever al times at inter v als of 1-2 weeks.
• Over ly moist soil or damp root s can reduc e the effecti venes s of the device. In such a c ase, repe at the tre atment in
drier condit ions if neces sar y. There fore, never use the dev ice immediately af ter it has rained, as t his could impair
the desired effec t.
Cooling down and switc hing off the devic e :
E X TR EMEL Y IMPORTAN T! Firs t slide the On/Off switch to t he "I" position for at lea st 1 minute (capit al
letter s and bold ). Only after t his should you set to position "0" to swit ch off the device. Now f old in the
guide wheels and the stand (me tal brac ket on the front underside of t he device) and lay down the dev ice so
that the front par t of the de vice re sts on t he stand.
If you use the device a s a hand-held device - i.e. wit hout the handle and wheels - fold out the st and (metal
bracket on the front under side of the devic e), lay the device on it , and allow the devic e to cool down. Make
sure that you do not allow hot par t s of the device t o rest on sensit ive sur face s such as wood, as this c ould
lead to scorch mar ks.
LIGHTING A GRILL (LE V EL 2) - Grill lig hter nozzle (available as an op tion - infor mation on the pac kage)
1. The gr ill lighter nozzle is intended for lighting your gr ill or fireplace. At tac h the grill lighter nozzle a s
described under "Exchanging t he att achment".
2. Slide the On/Off switch to t he 2nd position. Allow the devic e to heat up for approx . 45 seconds.
3. Place the nozzle under the c oal or wood. Make sure that the plast ic casing of t he device is not exposed
to direct heat !
4. Remove the device from t he coals or wood as soon as they s tar t to glow.
5. Now direct the nozzle at the c oals or wood from a dist ance of approx. 10-20 cm, unt il the coal or wood
has reached t he desired temper ature.
6. This will pre vent the nozzle from being exposed to exce ssi ve temperature s in the coals, and being
damaged. It also prevents t he casing fr om deforming a s a result of the temper ature.
7. T urn off the dev ice before r emoving it from fire.
RISK OF JAMMING DUE T O OV ERHE AT ING - Only ever use the opt ionally
available gr ill lighter nozzle for br iefly lighting an outdoor gr ill or fireplace.
This nozzle is no t suitable f or removing weeds in nar r ow space s (e.g.
crevic es). T here is a r isk of he at build-up as a re sult of prolonged use,
which can le ad to damage to t he devic e!
SWIT CHING OFF THE DE VICE: Slide the on/off s witch to position 0.
COOLING & SAFE S TOR A GE
Before the dev ice is completely swit ched off, it must be cooled down. Slide the on/off s witch to position „I“
for at leas t one minute. Aft er this, the dev ice can be sw itched off. The dev ice can be plac ed on the st and
while it cools down. Never leave the dev ice unat tended.
Make sure that the devic e has cooled down completely bef ore storage.
CLE ANING AND CAR E
WARNING! Before c arr ying out any c leaning wor k, remove t he plug from the mains, and ensure
that the dev ice has c ooled down completely.
Keep the s afet y device s, ventilation openings and t he motor housing free of dust and dir t . Wipe the dev ice
with a clean clo th, or blow it clean wit h low-pres sure compre ssed air. We recommend cleaning the device
after e ach use.
Clean the devic e regular ly with a damp cloth and some mild de tergent. Do not use aggr essi ve cleaning
agents or solvents - t hese can d amage the plastic par ts of the devic e. Make sure that no water enter s the
device.
