In case of a chimney ﬁre, all dampers must be closed and the ﬁre department must be contacted. The

chimney should be checked by the chimney sweep prior to continued use.

The ﬁrst time you ﬁre up the stove, you should do so carefully, as all the materials need to become

accustomed to the heat. The lacquer on the stove will bake the ﬁrst time it is ﬁred, and can therefore

give off some unpleasant fumes. So you should ensure that there is good ventilation. The control

handle is situated below the door.

The regulating rod (1): regulating primary and secondary air. Primary air comes up through the grate.

Secondary air comes in through the holes in the rear plate.

Regulating rod (2): regulating window rinsing air. Comes in around the window.

Push the regulating rod for primary and secondary air (1) to the extreme right (max. primary air)

and push the regulating rod for window rinse (2) to the extreme right (max. window rinsing air). Put

split kindling, corresponding to two to three pieces of wood (about 2 kg), into the stove. Put two ﬁre

lighters in between the upper layer of kindling. Light them and allow the ﬂames to spread slowly. Keep

the door ajar until no more condensation forms on the glass (about 5 minutes). Close the door. When

the kindling is burning well, push the output regulating rod (1) into middle position. If the ﬁre goes

out, this has been done too early. Push the regulating rod to the right again until the ﬁre is burning

properly. Allow the kindling to burn out until ﬂames are no longer visible.

Important! The ash drawer must not be opened during the lighting phase and should always

be closed when the stove is in use, or the automatic air regulation system could be dam-

aged. The hatch must be opened only when the ﬁre is lighted and stoked, and when ash is

removed.

When yellow ﬂames are no longer visible and a good bed of glowing embers has been established,

further stoking can be carried out. A good bed of glowing embers is when the pieces of wood break

down and the embers shine through the shaker grate. Put in 2-3 new logs of up to 1 kg each. There

is no need to further regulate the stove. It deals with this automatically. The temperature, however,

can be regulated up or down using the regulator arm (1). Moving it further to the left reduces com-

bustion and extends the burning time. Moving it to the right increases combustion, thus reducing the

burning period.

For each new stoking, wait until the bed of glowing embers is suitably low. During combustion the

external surfaces of the wood burning stove will heat up and necessary caution must be applied.
