Safety instructions – important notes

Road Trafc Licensing Regulations (StVZO)

TheapplicableregulationsoftheGermanStVZOmustbeobservedinrespectofxedinstallationofthe

turntable on a vehicle which is driven on public highways.

In particular, Articles 19/2; 30 C; 32 (2) and EC directive 74/483 EEC are applicable.

Briey,theystatethatnoendorsementofthevehicledocumentationisrequiredunlesstheantennaunit

causestheheightoftheladenvehicletoexceed2m,ortheantennaunitprojectsbeyondtheouterlat-

eraloutlineofthevehicle.Themaximumpermissibleheightof4m(vehicleandantennaunit)mustnotbe

exceeded.

Warning

There is an increased risk of accidents if the normal vehicle height is increased by having

anextendedantenna.Thedriverbearssoleresponsibilityfortheconditionofthesuper-

structureandexternalttings!

Cables

Lay all cables such that nobody can tread on them or trip over them.

Topreventparasiticinductionorinterferenceemissions,whenextendingtheantennacableuse75Ωcoax-

ial cable with a screening factor of at least 75 dB.

Warning

If you tied the cables together with wire or similar materials, remove this to prevent the risk

ofre!

When connecting the power cables (receiver and turntable) to the on-board power supply, make sure that

the cable polarity is not reversed.

Important

If the cable polarity is reversed there is a risk of thermal overload and damage to compo-

nentswhentheequipmentispoweredup!

Supply voltage, fusing

Operate the system from your vehicle's battery (12 V) or a suitable power supply unit. This power supply

unit must ensure a stable output voltage of 12 V, a continuous current of 11 A and 15 A (300 ms) surge cur-

rent.Theshort-timepowerconsumptionisuptoamaximumof12A.

To ensure reliable functioning of the connection/control unit, the power supply cable must be connected

directly to the battery. If the supply voltage is too low, the receiver indicates this with the on-screen mes-

sage “On-board voltage too low” on the television screen.

Notice

Risk of material damage. Protect the positive wire (red) of the power supply cable by using

a 15 A blade fuse. This blade fuse

● is included in the scope of delivery,

● must be installed by a specialist.

● If the fuse is blown, it must be replaced by a fuse with the same rating (15 A). The

causeofthefaultmustbeeliminatedrst.
