NTP

• Enabled: enable or disable the connection to the NTP server (Network Time Protocol).

Keep the system clock up to date automatically. If required, you will be able to modify the parameters by enabling this

option.

1) Server name: this is the server used by the control panel to synchronise the time.

2) Port: the port on which data relative to the NTP protocol is transmitted

3) Monitoring period: this is the period of time which elapses between one communication and another from the control

panel with the NTP server

4) Retentiv period in the event of an error: this is the lapse in time between one communications and another in the

event of an error

N.B. We would not recommend that you change these parameters unless it is absolutely necessary.

SMTP

• This enables the SMTP server to be conﬁgured which allows the control panel to send e-mails

The parameters which are required to be set for sending e-mails are listed below. (Those which appear by default are

not valid!)

The new lares 4.0 platform can also manage e-mail addresses which use SSL or TLS protocols (e.g. Gmail)

Otherwise you can create a host at www.kseniadns.com and use the same settings.

• Sender: The sender’s name must be programmed in this section (example: Central Alarm System). Some servers

however may require a valid e-mail address to be entered (e.g. for servers which do not require authentication).

For example, the sender will be as follows if you use the “Kseniadns” server settings: (xxxxxx@kseniadns.com)

• Protocol: a choice between SSL, TLS or none. Please refer to the parameters of the server being used. (SSL if using

kseniadns).

• Port: the security protocol communication port. Please refer to the parameters of the server being used. (465 if using

kseniadns)

• Username: the user used for the SMTP service.

The name of the user for “Kseniadns” server settings which have been created to name the system (e.g.: the username

will be mariorossi if the host name is mariorossi.kseniadns.com)

• Password: the password used for the SMTP service. The password chosen when creating the host (default 123456) for

“Kseniadns” server settings
