Sockets f or wind se nsor
Note:
When pu tting the Weathe r Center into ope ration, it is i mportant to
perform in close proximi ty (e.g. on a table) a compl ete wiring and set-u p
of the system. T his step is important to tes t all components fo r correct
function before placing and mount ing them at their final des tinations
(See Positioning below). Spin the wi nd vane and tip the rain g auge to
test.
1. Unwind the cab les of the Wind sensor. Connect th e Wind sensor
to the Thermo-hyg ro transmitter by p lugging the connect or head
into the socket o f the Thermo-hygro sensor. Cord sh ould “click”
into place.
2. First insert the b atteries into the Thermo-hy gro sensor and Rain
sensor “How to install and replace the b atteries into the
Thermo-hyg ro sensor“ and “ How to install and rep lace the
batteries into the Rain sensor” below).
3. Then insert the bat teries into th e Weather Center (see “How to
install and repl ace the batteries into the We ather Center”
below) . Onc e the batteries are install ed, all segme nts of the LCD
will light up bri efly and a short signal tone w ill be heard. It w ill then
display the time as 12:00, the date as 1.1.05, the weather ic ons,
and air pressure value. " - - -" will be shown for outdoor data.
4. Afterwards , the Weather Center wi ll start receiv ing data f rom the
transmitter. T he transmission recept ion icon will be blin king to
indicate that th e station is tr ying to get the thermo-hygro
transmitter data . The outdoor tempe rature, humidity , wind data
should then be dis played on the Weather Center. If this does not
happen after 135 sec onds, the batteries wil l need to be removed
from all units. Y ou will have to start again from step 2.
5. The transmitter re ception icon is now blinking again to indic ate
that the stati on is trying to get the rain sensor data. It will stop
blinking once the rain sen sor has been detected . If this does not
happen after 135 se conds, you w ill need to start again from step 2.
6. You may need to check the cable for correct connec tion and all
the components for correc t function by manually turning the win d-
6
gauge by moving the wind-vane; tilt ing the rain sensor to hear the
impact of th e internal mov ing seesaw, etc. (see Positioni ng
below).
7. Time and date shall be m anually set (See Manual Setting below).
8. After the Weather Center has been c hecked for correct function
with regard to the above points and found fit , the initial set up of
the weather statio n system is finished and the mounting of the
system compone nts can take place. It must be ensured however
that all componen ts work properly together a t their chosen
mounting or standing lo cations. If e.g. there appea r to be
problems with the 915 MHz rad io transmission, th ey can be
overcome by slight ly changing the mount ing locations or turning
the base station.
Note:
The radio communicat ion between the receiver and the transmit ters in
the open field reaches d istances of max 330 feet, prov ided there are no
interfering obs tacles such as build ings, trees, veh icles, high voltage
lines, etc.
9. Radio interferenc es created by PC screens, radios or TV sets can
in some cases entirely c ut off radio communi cation. Please
consider this wh en choosing standing or mount ing locations.
Note :
• After batteries are i nstalled in the trans mitter, install the ba tteries
in the weather center to re ceive the signal from th e transmitters as
soon as possibl e. If the weather cent er is powered more than 5
hours after the transmit ter is powered, the wea ther center will
never receive signa l successfully from th e transmitters. In this
case, user will need t o reinstall the batteries from all the
transmitters to re do set-up procedure.
• After batteries are insta lled, there wi ll be synchronization between
weather center and the transmitters. At this time, the sign al
reception icon w ill be blinking. When the signal is succ essfully
received by the weather ce nter, the icon w ill be switched on. (If it
is not successf ul, the icon will not be shown in LCD) So the user
can easily see whether t he last reception w as successful (icon on)
or not (icon off). O n the other hand, the s hort blinking of the ico n
shows that a reception is in pro gress.

• If the signal recep tion is not successful on t he first frequency
(915MHz) for 45 seconds , the frequency i s changed to 920MHz
and the learning is tried another 45 s econds. If still n ot successful,
the reception is tri ed for 45 seconds on 910MHz. This will also be
done for re-synchronizati on.
HOW TO INS TALL AND REPL ACE THE BATTE RIES INTO
THE THERM O-HYGRO SEN SOR
The outdoor Thermo-hy gro sensor works with
2 x AA, IEC LR6 1.5V batteri es. To install and
replace the bat teries, please follow the steps
below:
1. Uninstall the rai n cover of the transmit ter.
2. Remove the batter y compartment cover.
3. Insert the bat teries, observing the correct
polarity (see the marking in the batt ery
compartment).
4. Replace th e battery cover.
Note:
In the event of changin g batteries in any of the units, all units need to be
reset by following th e setting up proc edures. This is bec ause a random
security code is assigned by the thermo-hy gro sensor at start-up and
this code must be received and stor ed by the W eather Center in the first
several minutes of pow er being supplied to it .
HOW TO INS TALL AND REPL ACE THE BATTE RIES INTO
THE RA IN S ENSOR
The rain sensor works w ith 2 x AAA, IEC LR3, 1.5V batteries . To install
and replace the bat teries, please f ollow the steps below :
1. Press tabs back to unlock rain se nsor cover. (Figure 1)
2. Lift rain sens or cover to access battery compartm ent. (Figure 2)
3. Insert the batteri es, observing the correct polarity (see the
marking in the battery compartment). (Figure 3 )
4. Replace the batt ery cover and the rain cov er onto the unit.

HOW TO INS TALL AND REPL ACE THE BATTE RIES INTO
THE WEATHER CENTER
The Weather Center w orks with 3 x AA, IEC LR6, 1.5V ba tteries. W hen
the batteries ne ed to be replaced, the low battery symbol will appear on
the LCD. To inst all and replace the batt eries, please fol low the steps

3. Replace the bat tery cover.
BATTE RY CHAN GE:
It is recommended to repl ace the batteries in all u nits every 24 months
to ensure optimum accuracy of these uni ts.
Please participate in the preservation of th e
environment. Retu rn used batteries to an authorized
depot.
Note :
The stored History record will not be kept aft er the battery change i s
done on the Weather Center.
