INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
FIRST USE
• This scale works with three disposable 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries.
• To insert the batteries, open the battery compartment by pulling up the tab on the cover.
• Insert the batteries according to the pole markings. Close the cover.
UNIT SELECTION
For models PS7002 and PS7003, the unit of measurement for weighing can be selected in the "Laica
bodytouch" app, it is not possible to change the unit of measurement shown on the scale's LCD display.
For model PS7004, select the unit of measurement (kg or lb) when the scale is on by pressing the button
located on the base of the appliance.
USE
a. Measuring weight only
Body composition data is only available via the "LAICA bodytouch" smartphone app; the scale's display
only shows weight. It can therefore be used as a simple scale in the following way:
1) Place the scale on a flat, sturdy surface. An uneven or disjointed floor (e.g., rug, carpet, linoleum) may
compromise the accuracy of the reading.
2) With the scale off, step on with parallel feet and your weight equally distributed (see drawings). Do not
move until the scale has measured your weight. Do not lean on anything while the scale measures
your weight in order to avoid altering the readings.
3) Step off the scale. The display will continue to show the reading for a few seconds before automatically
turning off.
b. Operation with app: calculating body composition
List of compatible devices:
• iOS:
• iPhone starting with 4s
• iPad starting with the 3rd generation
• iPad mini
• iPad touch starting with the 5th generation
• For Android™ devices, check the Bluetooth version by downloading the free app BLE CHECKER from
Play Store™.
Compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 and higher, the scale sends body composition information (fat %, water %,
muscle %, bone structure weight, BMR and BMI) to your smartphone in order to make a better analysis of
the composition of your weight. During the following operations, we recommend keeping the smartphone
near the scale to keep the bluetooth connection active.
1) Activate bluetooth in the smartphone settings.
2) Install the free "LAICA bodytouch" App on your smartphone.
3) Start the app and follow the instructions to create a new user, entering your personal data.
4) With the scale switched off, stand on the device taking care to place your bare feet on the two
electrodes. The scale shows:
• weight
• the symbol , which indicates that the scale and smartphone are connected.
5) At this stage, the following data is shown and saved on your smartphone:
• weight
• BMI
• weight goal (if set in the app)
• body fat percentage ( )
• water percentage ( )
• muscle percentage ( )
• bone mass in kg ( )
• BMR ( )
6) The scale switches off automatically after around 10 seconds of inactivity.
Compare the fat percentage reading with the parameters indicated in the "Body fat table" if outside
normal values, consult your doctor. Evaluate the water percentage, as indicated in the "water %"
paragraph, as well as muscle percentage as indicated in the "muscle %" paragraph.
• When weighing, check that the app is on and displayed on your smartphone to ensure instant
transfer of data about your body composition.
• Before taking a new reading, always make sure that the bluetooth connection on your
smartphone is active.
• Before taking a new weight measurement, make sure the correct user is selected on your
smartphone.
• T o use the baby mode in the “LAICA bodytouch” app, we recommend creating a new user to
correctly save your child’ s weights.
• Each time the scale is moved and then returned to its resting surface, the first weight must not
be considered due to reorganization of the electronic board with the loading cells. Consider the
second and successive weights, as in certain cases the first one could be altered for the reason
mentioned above.
REPLACING BATTERIES
When the "LO" or battery symbol appears on the display, replace the batteries with the same type.
1. Open the battery compartment by pulling up the tab on the cover.
2. Remove the worn batteries and dispose of them according to the instructions in the paragraph
"Disposal Procedure".
3. Insert the new batteries according to the pole markings.
4. Close the battery compartment.
