3. Now press long (3 sec) the Middle buttonich button, the Blue and Red light
will flash.
4. Follow the pr ocedure on the other unit’ s instruction manual (normally y ou can
use the “V olume +” butt on on all the previous BT line units).
5. When successfully pair ed, each unit will have the Blue ligh t on for one second
and than go back to the setup mode (Red light alwa ys on).
Exit the setup mode from both units before y ou can use them: for BTX1 double
click on the Middle button, the Red light will turn off and the Blue light will start
flashing. F or the other devices of BT line, please r efer to their own user manual.
T alk 2 All - P airing to a different brand int ercom
Thanks to the “T alk2 All - Univ ersal Inter com” feature it is now possible to pair your
BTX1 to a different brand in tercom av ailable on the market.
1. On the BTX1 enter the setup mode: (With the unit OFF press and hold down
the Middle button about 7 sec., until the Red light is on permanen tly .
2. Press the “F orward” butt on for 3 seconds, the Red and Blu LED ligh t will flash.
3. On the other intercom (not Midland brand) follow the procedur e to pair to
a phone.
When successfully pair ed (no red/blue flashing light), to open the int ercom com-
munication on the BTX1 follow the instruction “Manual activation ”; on the other
interc om just press the phone redial button.
Attention: when using this configur ation, the other interc om (not Midland brand)
will not be able to be pair ed to a phone.
Pairing the BTX1 to Bluetooth devic es
The BTX1 unit can be paired to other Bluet ooth devices, like Phone , GPS Navigator
or PMR446 Radio with built-in or external Bluetooth.
The pairing proc edure must be done using the “V olume +” butt ons.
› Pairing to the “V olume +” button: for Phone or GPS. All devices pair ed to
this button have higher priority and will int errupt all the other communica-
tion .
Pairing to a phone
The cellular phone can be pair ed only to the “V olume +” , when pair ed the
“ phone mode “ is active. In this w ay it is possible to manage all the phone functio-
nalities and listen to the ster eo music. An incoming call the higher priority , that
means all other communications will be closed (Inter com, Music).
Pairing to a GPS na vigator
The GPS can be paired on the “ V olume +” button, when pair ed the
“ phone mode “ is active.
Attention: I f you need to connect both Phone and GPS, you m ust pair the Phone
to the GPS itself .
Pairing to a PMR446 radio with in tegrated or external Bluet ooth
The PMR446 Radio must be paired to the “ V olume +“ button.
Attention: if you pair a PMR446 with Bluetooth, it will not be possible t o pair the
Phone or the GPS.
Bluetooth connection always in Back ground
This featur e let you keep the Bluetooth c onnection on the “Volume+” button
always in back ground also if the Inter com is open (very useful to keep the GPS
navigator announc ement in background while the in tercom is open).
Enabling/Disabling the Background featur e:
Keep pressed for thr ee second the “V olume -” butt on, a voice announcemen t will
tell you the status . The backgr ound feature is active by default .
How to pair the BTX1 to a Phone
T o pair the BTX1 to a Phone, y ou must first enter the setup mode:
1. T urn off the unit
2. Press and hold down the middle butt on about 7 sec., until the Red light is on
permanently .
3. Now press for 3 seconds the “V olume +” butt on, the Blue and Red light will flash.
4. Enable the Bluetooth device sear ch feature on your mobile phone
5. After some seconds , “Midland BTX1” will be displayed on y our mobile phone.
Follow the pairing pr ocedure of y our Phone. If a pin code is request ed you
must enter “0000” (four time zero).
When successfully pair ed, the Blue light of the unit will be on for one second and
than the unit will exit the setup mode and switch to the w orking mode (the Blue
light will start flashing).
Y ou can use now y our BTX1 together with the Phone.
How to use a Phone
in order to use all the phone/MP3 music pla yer feature . If you are in “In terc om”
mode you can only manage the incoming phone call . T o activ ate the “ phone ”
mode, press the middle butt on until you hear “Phone ” fr om the voice announc e-
ment. Now all the thr ee main button are dedica ted to the phone (see T able B)
Answering a call in both Phone/Intercom mode
When you hear the phone ring , you can answer in two differ ent ways:
Voc ally:
Simply say one wor d to answer the call and start talking.
Remembering that you can only do this if y ou answer the call after the third Ring .
Attention: be awar e that some phones may not support voice answering
Manually:
T ap the “F orward” butt on and start speaking.
Rejecting a call in both Phone/Intercom mode
If you don ’t wish to answer , y ou can let the mobile phone ring or press the “F or-
ward” button for a few seconds (you will hear one audio confirmation tone).
Making a call only in Phone mode
There ar e several wa ys to make a call.
Fr om the mobile keypad:
Dial the number on the mobile keypad:
Press “S end” on the mobile phone.
T o redial the last number:
Press “F orward” button for 3 seconds in or der to redial the last number (y ou will
hear one audio confirmation tone).
T o make a voic e call:
Briefly press “F orward” butt on. If your mobile phone supports voice calls, y ou will
be asked to speak the name of the con tact you wish to call.
Priority: Calls have a high priority , which means that all other communic ations are
tempor arily disabled when a call arrives and automatic ally re-enabled once the call
ends.
Ending a callin both Phone/Intercom mode
There ar e several wa ys to end a call:
› Wait for the called person t o end the call.
› Press the “F orward” butt on (you will hear an audio confirmation t one).
› Press “E nd” button on the mobile phone .
Using the MP3 play er feature of the mobile phone only in Phone mode
Many mobile phones are now designed t o be used as stereo MP3 play ers. The
BTX1 device fully supports the A2DP and A VRCP protocols that enable y ou to listen
to stereo music and r emotely contr ol your mobile phone’ s MP3 player . Y ou can
even use the buttons on the BTX1 unit to con trol the following play options: Pla y ,
Pause , Forward and Backward .
Available c ontrols:
› T o play/pause music: click on the “ Middle” button.
› T o skip forward to the next song: press the “F orward” butt on.
› T o skip backwar ds to the previous song: press the “Rear ” button..
Priority: the music listening mode has the lowest priority . Ther efor e, it will always
be disabled when another type of communication is enabled .
How to pair the BTX1 to a GPS
In general is possible to pair the BTX1 to all the GPS for motorbik e that support
Bluetooth headset connection.
T o pair the BTX1 to a GPS, y ou must first enter the setup mode:
1. T urn off the unit
2. Press and hold down the “ Middle” button about 7 sec., until the Red light is
on permanently .
3. Now press firmly (3 sec) the “ V olume +” button, the Blue and Red ligh t will
flash.
4. Enable the Bluetooth device sear ch feature on your GPS
5. After some seconds , “Midland BTX1” will be displa yed on y our GPS.
