3) Use one of the keys SUB 1– 4 (7) to select the subgroup to be con-
figured This will only be possible when the key AUX-FX MODE (12)
is not illuminated; if required, press the key so that it extinguishes
4) When you have selected a subgroup, you can, if required:
use the key MAIN (23) to route the subgroup to the sum chan-
nel MAIN, and then use the key PAN (23) and the rotary knob
PARAMETER ADJUST (18) to define the position of the subgroup
signal in the stereo panorama (see chapter 531)
use the key LINK (23) to link the subgroup and its adjacent group
as a stereo pair (see chapter 52)
invert the signal (see chapter 513)
define a signal delay (see chapter 514)
process the dynamic range (see chapter 54)
adjust the sound (see chapter 55)
5)
As already described for an input channel (
chapter 515), a
selected subgroup can be monitored via the Solo bus
Note: The subgroups are not available in the mode “8 Aux” (
chapter 621)
To only adjust the level of multiple channels at the same time, a DCA
group may be used instead of a subgroup (
chapter 58)
5.3.3 Aux ways
The Aux ways are normally used as send ways to the stage monitors
(see chapter 46) or to external effect units (see chapter 47) Unlike as
with many other mixers, the Aux ways of the DMIX-20 do not just lead
to their respective output jack AUX OUT (30), but may also internally
be routed to the signal sum MAIN Unlike as with the subgroups, the
signals of the input channel are not just routed to the Aux way: For
each input channel, you can additionally define the size of the signal
part added to the Aux way and determine if the signal is to be picked
up ahead of the channel fader (PRE) or after the channel fader (POST)
1) Use the keys (8) to select an input channel
2) If the key AUX-FX MODE (12) is not illuminated, press the key so
that it lights up
3)
Use one of the keys AUX 1– 4 (11) to select the Aux way to be
assigned, and then use the rotary knob PARAMETER ADJUST (18) to
adjust the signal part desired On the screen, the fader “Parameter”
and the corresponding Aux control beneath “Sends” will indicate
the value adjusted (fig 9)
In the mode “8 AUX” (
chapter 621), use the keys SUB 1– 4
(AUX 5 8) to select the Aux ways 5 8
4) On the screen, select the position where the signal is to be picked
up The current setting (PRE or POST) will be indicated beneath the
corresponding Aux control (beneath “Sends”) Tap the button to
switch between these two options
Note: For extracting a monitor signal, the setting PRE is recommended With
this setting, it will be possible to adjust the volume on the stage independently
from the front-of-house sound For effects, the setting POST is usually recom-
mended: With this setting, any change to the volume of the channel signal
will adjust the volume of the effect accordingly
5) To configure an Aux way, press the key AUX-FX MODE (12) again
so that it extinguishes
6) Use one of the keys AUX 1– 4 (11) to select the Aux way desired
and then, if required,
use the key MAIN (23) to route the Aux way to the sum chan-
nel MAIN, and then use the key PAN (23) and the rotary knob
PARAMETER ADJUST (18) to define the position of the Aux signal
in the stereo panorama (see chapter 531)
use the key LINK (23) to link the Aux way and its adjacent way
as a stereo pair (see chapter 52)
invert the signal (see chapter 513)
define a signal delay (see chapter 514)
process the dynamic range (see chapter 54)
adjust the sound (see chapter 55)
7)
As already described for an input channel (
chapter 515), a
selected Aux way can be monitored via the Solo bus
5.3.4 Internal effect ways
The mixer features two effect processors with many effect types
(
chapter 5731) The procedure of adding the signal part of a
channel to these internal effect ways is similar to the procedure for
the Aux ways The generated effect signal, however, cannot only be
routed to the signal sum MAIN, but also to Aux ways and subgroups
1) Use the keys (8) to select an input channel
2) If the key AUX-FX MODE (12) is not illuminated, press the key so
that it lights up
3)
Use one of the keys FX 1/2 (11) to select the effect way to be
assigned, and then use the rotary knob PARAMETER ADJUST (18) to
adjust the signal part desired On the screen, the fader “Parameter”
and the corresponding FX control beneath “Sends” will indicate
the value adjusted (fig 9)
4) On the screen, select the position where the signal is to be picked
up The current setting (PRE = ahead of the channel fader/ POST =
after the channel fader) will be indicated beneath the corresponding
FX control (beneath “Sends”) Tap the button to switch between
these two options
Note: For effects, the setting POST is usually recommended: With this setting,
any change to the volume of the channel signal will adjust the volume of
the effect accordingly
5)
To configure an effect way, press the key AUX-FX MODE (12) again
so that it extinguishes
6) Use one of the keys FX 1/ 2 (11) to select the effect way desired
and then, if required,
use the key MAIN (23) to route the effect signal to the sum chan-
nel MAIN, and then use the key PAN (23) and the rotary knob
PARAMETER ADJUST (18) to define the position of the effect
signal in the stereo panorama (see chapter 531)
use the keys SUB 1– 4 (23) to route the effect signal to the sub-
groups desired (see chapter 532)
use the keys AUX 1– 4 (11) and the rotary knob PARAMETER
ADJUST (18) to add the effect signal to the Aux ways (see chap-
ter533)
invert the effect signal (see chapter 513)
define a signal delay (see chapter 514)
process the dynamic range (see chapter 54)
adjust the sound (see chapter 55)
7)
As already described for an input channel (
chapter 515), a
selected effect way can be monitored via the Solo bus
Refer to chapters 47 and 533 for information on how to process
the signals with external effect units
