2.5 Additional accessories
For specific information on suitable accessories, please refer to the
catalogue.
For unmixed heating circuit without separate heating pump:
Valve; connection to PZ1...3
Temperature controller for 1 heating circuit with/without time
program (EMS 2/EMS plus); connection to BUS; depending on
the controller, the zone control (SC) must be explicitly modified
in this case ( technical documentation for temperature
controller); or
Thermostat for room temperature control (optional); connection
to IZ1...3
For cylinder charging circuit without cylinder charging pump:
Valve; connection to PZ1
For unmixed heating circuit with separate heating pump
(e.g. downstream of low loss header):
Heating pump; connection to PZ1...3
Flow temperature sensor, low loss header (optional); connection
to T0
Temperature controller for 1 heating circuit with/without time
program (EMS 2/EMS plus); connection to BUS; depending on
the controller, the zone control (SC) must be explicitly modified
in this case ( technical documentation for temperature
controller); or
Thermostat for room temperature control (optional); connection
to IZ1...3
For cylinder charging circuit with separate cylinder charging pump
(e.g. downstream of low loss header):
Cylinder primary pump; connection to PZ1
Flow temperature sensor, low loss header (optional); connection
to T0
Cylinder temperature sensor; connection to TC1
With systems with 2-port valve (S-schematic, in UK only):
Circulating pump; connection to PZ3
2 x 2-port valves (with end switches); connection to PZ1 and IZ1
and to PZ2 and IZ2
Temperature controller for 1 heating circuit with/without time
program (EMS 2/EMS plus); connection to BUS; depending on the
controller, the zone control (SC) must be explicitly modified in this
instance ( technical documentation for temperature
controller); or
Room and/or frost thermostat (optional); connection to IZ3 and
IZ4
With systems with mid-position valve (Y-schematic, only in UK):
Circulating pump; connection to PZ3
Mid-position valve; connection to PZ1 and PZ2
Temperature controller for 1 heating circuit with/without time
program (EMS 2/EMS plus); connection to BUS; depending on the
controller, the zone control (SC) must be explicitly modified in this
instance ( technical documentation for temperature
controller); or
Room and/or frost thermostats (optional); connection to IZ3 and
IZ4
Installation of additional accessories
Install the additional accessories in accordance with legal
requirements and the instructions supplied.
3Installation
3.1 Installation
Installation on a wall
Mount module on a wall ( Fig. 4 to Fig. 6, from page 56).
Installation on a mounting rail
Mount module on a mounting rail ( Fig. 8, page 57).
When removing the module from the mounting rail, refer to Fig. 9 on
page 57.
Installation in the heat source
Check by referring to the installation instructions of the heating
appliance whether it is possible to install modules (e.g. MZ 100) in
the heating appliance.
If the module can be installed in the heating appliance without a top-
hat rail, prepare the module ( Fig. 4, page 56 and Fig. 7,
page 57).
If the module can be installed in the heating appliance with a top-hat
rail, observe Fig. 4 on page 56 and Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 on page 57.
3.2 Electrical connection
Observe current regulations applicable to power connections, and
use at least cable type H05 VV-…
3.2.1 Connection of BUS and temperature sensor (extra-low
voltage side)
If the conductor cross-sections are different, use the junction box to
connect the BUS nodes.
Connect BUS nodes [B] via junction box [A] in a star configuration
( Fig. 10, page 57) or via BUS nodes with at least 2 BUS
connections in series ( Fig. 20, page 59).
Maximum total length of BUS connections:
100 m at 0.50 mm
2
conductor cross-section
300 m at 1.50 mm
2
conductor cross-section
All low voltage leads must be routed separately from cables carrying
mains voltage to avoid inductive interference (minimum separation
100 mm).
In the case of external inductive interferences (e.g. from PV
systems), use shielded cables (e.g. LIYCY) and earth the shield on
one side. The shield should be connected to the building's earthing
system, e.g. to a free earth conductor terminal or water pipe, and not
to the earth connection terminal in the module.
DANGER: Risk of electric shock!
Before installing this product: completely disconnect
heat appliances and all other BUS nodes from the
mains voltage.
Before commissioning: Fit cover ( Fig. 19, page 59).
If the maximum total length of the BUS connections
between all BUS nodes is exceeded, or if the BUS system
is realised as a ring structure, the system cannot be
commissioned.
Only one temperature sensor T0 must be installed per
system. If there are several modules available, the
module for connecting the temperature sensor can be
freely selected.
