Conversion Tool

Conversion Tool (included in the CD)

The bundled software “Conversion Tool” allows to constantly update the Points of Interests on the NGM

NAVIGATION maps.

There are two ways to transfer the updated POI in your phone:

- connect the phone to the PC and automatically copy the files on your device;

- convert the files and manually copy them on your device.

Automatic copy:

1. open Conversion Tool;

2. connect the phone to the PC and select “Mass memory” from the suggested options. Conversion Tool will

automatically detect the connection with NGM Voyager;

3. load the desired files as follows:

Conversion Tool accepts files in .csv (comma-separated value) format in the basic common standard

“Longitude,Latitude,description”.

You can select up to10 files at the same time to get as output the files used in NGM Navigation software. From the

program interface press the browser button “..” for each file to convert; select the desired file and open it; repeat the

procedure for all the files to convert.

The customized POI files will be saved in a folder named POI under C:\NGM\ConversionTool. This folder can be used

to archive the .csv files to convert.

Set the category name of the POIs in the field “File content description”. That name will be automatically shown in

the NGM NAVIGATION software.

4. If the procedure succeeds, the button “Convert and update” will be available; otherwise, try again pressing

the button “Update connection”; select the map to which upload the POIs and press the button “Convert and

update”.

This way, the old file containing the POIs will be replaced with the new one, and you will be allowed to upload the

POIs directly from NGM NAVIGATION software (Settings > Load POI)

Manual copy:

If you need to manually copy the files (if you do not have the phone at your disposal, for instance), or if you want to

archive or send the conversions, you can use the “Convert” button. In this case, it won't be necessary to connect the

phone, and the converted files will be generated in the folder C:\NGM\ConversionTool\OUTPUT.
