D. Functions with external switch
In combination with an actor , allowing for an external switch, connected on E1, the switch will have following
function:
•switch OFF:normaloperation
•switch ON:nighttemperature levelactive (handsymbol visible)
Attention:for as long asthe switch is atON,the night temperaturewill remain active! Inthis mode the ther-
mostatcan only beprogrammed orreset.
7. CAUTION DURING OPERA TION
• In caseof troubles,usethe RESET button. The programremains in memory .
• After ±10min, astabletemperatureisdispla yed. Thisphenomenonisperfectlynormal,itdoesn’tindicate a
defect.
• Theclockthermostatcannotnotbeusedtodirectlycontrolaliquidfuelburner . Theclockthermostatisused
to activate the circula tion pump for the central heating.
• Many factors could influence a tempera ture measurement. In order to guarantee a correct temperature
measurement, the following must be taken into account:
- Do not place the thermostat on a wall that is in direct contact with the outside air .
- Donotplacethe thermostatinthe immediatevicinityof aheatingsource(stove, heating,…) oran electrical
devicethat radiates heat(TV ,computer , …).
- Do not place the thermostat in direct sunlight or artificial light.
- Do not placethe thermostatbehind a curtainor drapery.
- Avoid aircirculation inthe pipes ofthe heatinginstalla tion. Fill possibleholes withPU-foam.

8. TROUBLESHOOTING
The ‘flame’symbolisshownonthe display ,evenif thetemperatureintheroomhasalready beenreached. The
thermostat is provided with a digital control and anticipates temperature f luctuations. As the pump needs some
time to heat the room, the thermostat controls the pump in advance and remains active for some time after
theset temperaturehas beenreached.Thisenablestohave asteady temperature,whichresults inmaximum
return and minimum consumption.

- Theinstallationhastobecarriedoutbyaregisteredinstallerandincompliancewiththestatutor yregulations.

10. GUARANTEE PROVISIONS
-Period of guarantee: 2 years from da te of delivery .The delivery date is the invoice da te of purchase of the
productbytheconsumer .Ifthereisnoinvoice, thedateofproductionapplies.
-The consumer is obliged to inform Niko in writing about the defect, within two months after stating the
defect.
-Incaseofa failuretoconform, theconsumerhas therightto arepair orreplacement(decidedby Niko)freeof
charge.
- Niko cannot be held liable for a defect or damage as a result of an incorrect installation, improper or careless
use or wrong usage or transformation of the goods.
- The compulsory regulations of the na tional legislation concerning the sales of consumer goods and the protection
oftheconsumersinthecountries whereNikosells,directlyor viasisterordaughtercompanies, chainstores,
distributors, agents orpermanentsales representatives, takepriorityover therules andregulationsmentioned
